Jared Leto, the colorful character actor -- and well-known frontman for the maarufu band 30 sekunde to Mars -- will receive the Hollywood Breakout Performance Award for his work in Jean-Marc Vallee's Dallas Buyers Club at the 17th annual Hollywood Film Awards -- the first awards onyesha of the 2013 season -- on Oct. 21 at the Beverly Hilton, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Previous recipients of the Hollywood Breakout Performance Award include Carey Mulligan, Michael Shannon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and John Hawkes.
