Anastasia Article: What I thought about Anastasia

Okay, I will warn you, this is my opinion. Anastasia, to me, was a typical princessy story loosely based on a real person and that ends happily. basically the same thing as Disney's Pocahontas, but Pocahontas doesn't have a happy ending. Anastasia isn't a terrible movie, but it isn't the type of movie that I enjoy. I mean, the uhuishaji was gorgeous for an American artist but something about the story makes me unhappy. That is strange, I know but I like a movie with a not so happy ending. I have to say,this is my least inayopendelewa animated movie so far. I don't like sinema that end happily.

There is one thing I like about Anya in the whole movie. that she isn't the type of girl to be pushed around. Very independent woman, which gets her some points from me. And the muziki in this onyesha was wonderful. My inayopendelewa song was Once Upon A December. Oh and this might be strange, but this movie reminds me of an anime called Code Geass. I think it was the plots and the character scenarios. But that is just me. If they had this movie in anime style with English subtitles, I think I would have liked it a lot better. But the English version is gorgeous too. Like I said, it may be my least inayopendelewa movie, but again, that is just me. It is still really gorgeous and the muziki was amazing. But something about haopily ever afters gets on my nerves. But still, I would recommend this for girls that upendo to look into creative princess musicals, this one would be great for them~

antisocialist A few things. 1. Do not judge things by the standpoint of anime. I'm generally not a huge fan of anime fans for that purpose - too many of them think that anime is the be-all-end-all of animation and is the standard, especially when you consider that the popularity of anime, as a whole, is on it's way out in the US, and a great part of that is due to the fanbase. Anime got a large part of it's creation from American animation, so while you are attempting to shame a film for being okay 'for an American', there are loads of godawfully animated animes. Also consider that Anastasia was made in 1997, and for it's time, it outshone pretty much everything - including anime. I doubt that you'll understand this because you weren't even born when Anastasia was released, and thusly, you wouldn't know how big a deal it was (I, meanwhile, was 10 and remember the big deal made about Anastasia to this very day). I say this as an anime fan myself, but I am also considerably older and can appreciate other forms of animation and art than just anime. 2. You are watching a children's movie. Let me repeat myself - this is a movie made for 10 YEAR OLD KIDS. You and I both know that it is a movie that is going to end happily. If that's the case, then you don't need to waste your time watching it. Children's shows in general - yes, even including anime - contain happy endings. Even a series as dark as the Original Sailormoon still contained droves of happy endings even after the multitude of deaths. You are basically asking for a more adult film to show to 10 year olds, which isn't at all feasible. 3. It's nothing like Code Geass. Code Geass is more political and has a lot of political intrigue. Very little about Anastasia is political. The most political thing is when Vladimir states "One thing I hate about this government - everything's in red." 4. If they did this movie in Anime style, it would suck. Period. The beauty of Anastasia (the animation) would age terribly with 90's style Japanese Animation. It has aged very well and still looks very state-of-the-art to this very day. If it were done as an anime, it would be unremarkable. For it's time, the animation in Anastasia was groundbreaking and revolutionary. Furthermore, many animes have difficulty with character proportions and would not properly grasp how the real Anastasia looked to the extent that this film did. You're acting like an obsessive anime fangirl and that's not okay if you want yourself, or your fandom, to be taken seriously.

cruella I'm not a huge fan of the movie either. I don't think the personalities of the characters were very well done, with the exception of Rasputin and Bartok. (don't hate me) They were the only reason a ever watched the movie. And I do think it's a pretty sad story even if it does have a happy ending.But I don't see how doing it in Anime would make it any better.

Cagirl304 I get what you are saying, yes it was a little out there with the weird guy and all but I really enjoyed it. I loved the way they made Anya acte the fisty girl who thinks for herself and knows what she wants. It's unlike any of the Disney movies witch makes it cool.

Saphir I don't understand why, if people doesn't like this movie, they came into this spot to tell it. If we are fan of it, it is obviously because we like Anastasia!!
