Debate Topic 18: What is something that wewe find repetitive throughout anime in general?

My one, that I find repetitive, is one of my pet peeves in anime in general - the ridiculous way that Shounen anime portray their main characters, as well as overpowering them, to the point that it even makes the anime a little less enjoyable. I've found that most main anime characters tend to be mostly serious, with the occasional ability to joke around, au goof off every now and again... point is, it's very predictable. Even Luffy (One Piece) is predictable and he's my inayopendelewa character in the series, as well as being a character that is rarely serious and heroic, yet he still displays typical mainstream anime characteristics (though, mostly in the form of miraculous recoveries and victories, as with most of these kind of characters).

for me,the most repetitive thing is that most villians in some action series go for "ha! i have one of the most powerful ability! wewe can never defeat me!" and the main characters are beat up a lot but after some things like "my Marafiki are counting on me! i wont give up!" they suddenly overpower the villians and win...an example of animes like that is 'Fairy Tail' though i am a shabiki of it,i seem to be losing interest due to this cycle

[i dont mean to offend other fans, and also this is kind of my opinion]

That was pretty much what I was sayhing, too - the main characters in shounen seem to have that thing going for them, where they are unrealistically strong (even to the anime's standards) and that similar scenario wewe mentioned then plays out.

Gender confusion. The amount of male characters I've mistaken for girls in anime/manga is ridiculous. For example: Haku (Naruto), Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho), Momiji (Fruits Basket), Titus (Magi), Husky (+Anima), need I go on? I've Lost count of how many times I've thought 'Waaaiit... that's a GUY!?' while watching anime. I guess the general rule is: if you're not sure about the gender, go with male.

I know it can be quite amusing, but I do sometimes find it annoying, as well. :P

Lol, yeah, I've seen a lot of girly anime boys and it definitely confused me to no end... not as to what gender they are, but why they look so girly when they are clearly a boy. Lol.

Whenever a character (usually one of the protagonists) survives situations they clearly should be dying in. I mean if it's justified kwa good uandishi au a certain power/personality trait they may possess, then I can overlook it.
But when they just survive for no good reason at all, that yanks my chain... stop giving characters plot immunity (if it can be helped) au even worse shabiki immunity.
Note: 'fan immunity' is my little term for when a character is killed off and the character's fanboys/fangirls start crying.

Yeah, another one of my pet peeves is listed here, Ryuu. The same example as I always use for this one is the Ichigo Vs. Ulquiorra... Ichi shouldn't have won that fight. I also hate it when fanboys and girls cry over a dead character, when it's almost always conducive to the plotline, like when Ace died and all the OP fangirls and fanboys had a whinge about it. It advanced the plot and story... get over it.
