Has anyone ever wondered about how closely related Rozen Maiden and Konjiki no Gash kengele are?

Rozen Maiden's about dolls trying to become (pretty much) the fairest of them all and Gash kengele is about little people named mamodos who try to become the King. Anyone else think they're similar?
