In the inky depths of an ancient pool, three soothsayers cast a dark judgment upon the King of Camelot.

But despite Merlin’s warnings, headstrong Arthur refuses to take the words of the Disir (Frances Tomelty, Sian Thomas, Helen Schlesinger) seriously and their fury rains down on Camelot. Only the greatest sacrifice can appease them, and with the kingdom in jeopardy, is it one that Arthur is prepared to make?

Faced with the King’s uncertainty, Merlin has just one chance to save him from his destiny, but this decision comes at the highest price.

Colin morgan is Merlin, Bradley James is Arthur, Angel Coulby is Gwen, Katie McGrath is Morgana, Richard Wilson is Gaius and John Hurt is the voice of the Great Dragon. Tom Hopper, Rupert Young, Eoin Macken and Adetomiwa Edun return as The Knights of the Round Table. Special guest stars include Frances Tomelty, Sian Thomas, Helen Schlesinger as the Disir and Andrew Tiernan as Osgar.

stella77 Well, you gotta admit...we were warned Arthur's Bane is the production staff--I mean, HIMSELF. This is one point TPTB have shown some consistency. Unfortunately.

Bonne-Bell Lets just say that I'm not a fan of the Arthur's Bane storyline. I get that in many versions of the legend he does kind of bring on his own destruction since he fathered Mordred and then doesn't listen when people warn him about Camlann. But they've been laying it on too thick in this series and it's starting to mess with the legendary aspect of his character. Since series 1 we've been told that Arthur's going to be a great king and now it's like they're retconning all of that (everything that Gwen, Kilgarrah, Merlin and others have said about how great a king he's going to be) just so they can continue with this Arthur the fool storyline. Gwen should probably consider locking him up in their chambers so that he doesn't go out and cause more trouble.

Lucerne28 What Bonne-bell said. Sigh. This is getting friggin ridiculous. I have yet to see the legendary king we were promised, and it is getting very frustrating. This whole Arthur bane storyline is assine. In their zeal to speed up Arthur's fall storyline it would appear that the show runners are going to bypass the legendary king part, and turn Arthur into a fool. I am so tired of this whole crap. We the audience, as well as Arthur, deserves more than this contrived trash the show runners are force feeding us. I had so much hope for series 5, yet with each passing episode, that hope is dying. I want the legendary king, and wizard we were promised at the beginning of series one! Not these caricatures masquerading as Arthur and Merlin on my screen.

lailastar Lucerne you had me laughing so hard, I was in tears..AGREED...AND AGREED... AGAIN...and ..AGAIN. and...AGAIN. I can't stop myself. TPTB are destroying this show, I have no idea why, they have a hit on their hands and yet are determine to ruin this show's popularity. Is it because they are so anxious to move to the big screen. Yes it is popular for tv but will it succeed on the big screen? That is the million dollar question.

EPaws I am with Lucerne 100%. Seriously the King of Lore is now an emo, whiner and the epic Warlock a complete twit who doesn't know his mind one segment to the other. You know, I watch this show for the OT3, and as far as I am concerned I think we all know who they are. One more week of Arthur being his own freakin bane ....WE GET IT ALREADY. He is a living Clotpole. Can we fix him now, and move him towards the legend please? Oi vey.

EPaws See the error they are making in this, forget Arwen for a minute is simple. A movie theatre audience is a different animal. Pass off any of this detritus, yes, detritus and they will be laughed out of the theatre. In fact, they will be famous, nay, infamous and the laughing stock of the industry. They need to hire a battery of good writers and serialize the series. Hope you get what I mean, making it a 12 segment art that leads to something. This? Not so much. By doing so it would have allowed them the breadth to tell stories and utilize pretty much utilize from the barely adequate to the uniformly good, and some superb cast to tell the tale. Really good stories, not the clap trap they are coming up with. I really thought they would be interesting this year, let us see what episode four brings. All I ask is that you show Arthur having a brain, a pair, and conviction. All I need is Merlin to show why he is a genius and yes, a master manipulator, that is who Merlin is. Then work those two dynamics together, but no. Let us go for the trite.
