Colin morgan Interview: Is the Bromance Over In Series 5?

EPaws Up until now, Merlin has been Arthur’s faithful servant and friend, but that looks set to change when series 5 returns later this year. “Their relationship definitely becomes a lot more strained, I think, because Arthur is the King now, Guinevere is the Queen,” reveals actor Colin Morgan (Merlin). “We are seeing Gwen becoming a real source of influence on him, and we see that become a real rock-steady duo.” He explained that part of Gwen (Angel Coulby)’s role will be reminding Arthur (Bradley James) that he shouldn’t be galloping off on his horse at the first sign of a mission anymore; he must rule Camelot. That won’t stop Merlin from leading him astray, though…. “Merlin is an influence on him but in a completely different way, in the way that he is so much in the know about how things should be,” Morgan continues. “But magic is a huge blockade. Their relationship is kind of what it’s always been, but something’s changed. They have put us in situations that are the toughest we’ve ever faced, but there is still room for what we’ve always had which is a bit of banter.” Merlin returns to BBC One later this year. ********** Should we dare hope that finally, the backbone of what makes Arthur and Merlin’s friendship will actually develop under the correct lines, FINALLY…enough with the two steps forward and fifty backwards. About damn time.

EPaws Don't be sad. Be highly amused because that particular faction are showing their true colours. They cannot help themselves and they are proving everyone right. They are small and vocal and just plain stupid. Feel sorry for their limited perspective. Whilst they are busy slitting their collective wrists this Fall, and they are in minority, we all will be fully well enjoying the show.

2Sam11 Jep, they totally lost it! I was really disgusted by what they are saying! I really don`t want 2 start a discussion or something like that (because this place is peaceful and an arwen bubble), but when someone is saying "so help me god I will burn the heart out of them all, if Gwen is at all involved in the magical reveal" i just can`t stay back. At some point we all have 2 remember that this is just a show! I`m just sad for Angel, she will get all the more hate now.... BUT as EP was saying : season 5 is going to be awesome! :)

EPaws Ahh but you forget how much her army of supporters have grown how very much. So let them hate. Their asses will be fried alive. EPaws Understood love. Having said that...perspective is in order. Understanding the enemy, perceived and otherwise is half the battle. Cause it bears repeating....as to the transparency of the vocal minority: Thank you. It is clear by the response of a few that they seem to believe that friendship and love are a mutually exclusive game which immediately tells me that those reacting in this juvenile way are, wait for it, juvenile and haven’t a clue what love or a relationship is. It would seem to me, this story is moving in the correct direction. I for one am also looking forward to S5 and I think it is going to have a strong, large, appreciative audience. In fact, many that may have dismissed the little series that could, will more than likely pay more attention to it now. Bring it. We’ll be watching. As to the naysayers…whatever. Go find something else to watch instead of giving yourselves strokes.

Sounds like whatever pisses them off/cause them pain means good things for Arthur and Gwen, so I say bring it. My hope is for series 5 to be the biggest f*ck you to all of them. May it be the biggest Arwen and Gwen filled series yet.

famfan This fandom, *head shake* I loved the interview, mostly b/c it sounds like everyone is getting meater roles. ABC is so talented it going to be awesome to see them shine. The haters should relieaze that the more complex the relationships are on the show, the better these actors become. Which in turn could lead to some nice awards for the Merlin cast at large.

Bonne-Bell I'm not really bothered by that faction and their imbecilic behaviour. I find it quite funny actually. They're like little jealous highschool girls hating on the girl who has everything that they want and trying to do everything that they can to tear her down. Everytime we hear or see anything new about Gwen, they lose their shit and I can't help but laugh at their expense. Gwen gets a new gown, they get mad. Gwen has a photoshoot with Arthur, they get mad. Gwen becomes a source of influence on Arthur, they get mad. Tell me you didn't know girls like this in highschool? Jealousy is such an ugly emotion. HumbleQueen @Bonnie. I know girls like that and have since I was a young girl myself. So that means I've seen this behavior for a LONG time, lol! But yes, this interview, if he is correct, gives us hope for some meaty stories and low and behold, adult behavior from the two male principals.But it doesn't fit with the promised Jeeves and Wooster. We shall see.
