k! convincong though! but remember in book 3 bato and katara's dad told the other moto nation ship captain that admoral zhao asked them to deliver some cargo. and the other soldier told him that he was on live in ember island! rly confused!

I'm pretty sure Admiral Zhao died at the North Pole. In episode 20, the ocean spirit grabbed him, Zuko tried to save him, but Zhao gave up, plunged into the canal. Some later evidence shows in the Legend of Korra, when they find Zhao in the Spirit World in the Fog of Lost Souls.
