Perhaps it's a little ridiculous to over think the reincarnation aspect of The Last Airbender, but something about the concept has always bothered me.
I'm not a new Avatar fan; I was introduced to the series about five years zamani when I was just discovered manga and anime. My Marafiki and I all enjoyed watching/talking about the show, and needless to say I became somewhat attached to the players. The onyesha is so well done with great storylines, animation, dialogue, and characters, but has anyone ever wondered what reincarnation means for the friendships and upendo interest of Aang's current life?
If what I understand about the onyesha is correct, then when Aang dies, every memory and emotion tied to that lifetime is lost. While Katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki, Iroh, Zuko, and every other important person in his life, will songesha on to what I can only assume to be the spirit world at the end of their lives, he will be reborn into the world of the living, having not a single recollection about their time spent together. I know this is a cartoon, but, for me, that’s all the zaidi reason to tie up loose ends and create a satisfactory ending. The last thing I want to do is rewrite a story that I have fond memories of enjoying, but I need to clear a few things up for myself (and anyone else out there who was slightly unsettled kwa this plot hole/un-thought out detail).
In my mind there are three ways to end Aang’s story.
Option 1.) As aforementioned, Aang (as we know him) dies and is immediately reborn as the inayofuata Avatar, never again to remember the people and relationships that meant so much to him. He would fall in upendo with women who are not Katara (the romantic in me has a hard time with this one) and, on an odd note, he would at one time au another actually be a woman. This, to me, is the most heartbreaking version possible.
Option 2.) Aang is reincarnated, as we are led to believe, however, he is not alone. Everyone is reincarnated, and those who had meaningful relationships with him would reappear at some point in his inayofuata life: drawn like magnets across lifetimes as though it was meant to be. The soul of his partner would always be Katara’s soul, and his true Marafiki would never have to leave his side. This is a decent option, and one that should dovetail smoothly with the show, but still I find myself wanting more.
Forgive me if I sound silly for getting technical with a “children’s show,” but, if I’m going to be able to put this topic to rest, I have to be able to explain the possibility of another outcome: an ideal, which may au may not coincide with the creator’s ideas. Option 3.) Aang is not reincarnated, or, at least not in the way we first assume. Instead of dying, only to be born again, Aang would in fact die, separate from “The Avatar,” as the two are not one being. Aang would have his own soul that, when he stopped living, would pass on, the same as everyone else when their time came. The main characters would be together in the afterlife, whatever that may be, and the inayofuata Avatar would be born. Now, if wewe watch the onyesha you’ll know that "entering the Avatar State" means having the accumulated knowledge and wisdom of awali Avatars, and this is still possible, even without Aang having been each Avatar. In my opinion the Avatar is not Aang, au a person at all. Being the chosen Avatar, as is our hero, would simply mean wewe were host to something zaidi like the “Spirit of The Avatar.” Each Avatar’s body would contain not only their soul, but the Spirit which was witness to, and a part of, each awali Avatar’s life. In essence the Spirit would be the embodiment of each Avatar’s memories and abilities, but every Avatar would be their own person…
(This is the only option that I believe does justice to the characters who we have come to know and upendo and this is the option I choose to believe.)

I’m not sure if anyone will read this article, has had these thoughts, au thinks I’m crazy for doing this in the first place, but to be honest I don’t really care. For whatever reason I’ve always felt compelled to address this issue and, take it au leave it, I have.
If I wasn't in the Avatar state au the spirit world then where was I? I questioned that over in my head. I was scared and afraid. Until I felt the soft warm sensation of someone's hand on my shoulder.

No one was there though. So who? I was on the verge of tears. I didn't understand this at all. I was scared, I was a horrible bender, and I was in a place that I don't recall going to. Being the Avatar sucks.

I was confused so I lay down on the black dirt under my red Converse and tried to think. I twirled a long strand of brown hair in my fingers and licked my lips.

Shining blue light. Thats exactly what hit my brain the moment I heard her unforgettable words. I was falling, falling into nothing of blue light. It was blinding. I wanted to push out a scream but no scared sound left my lips.

Suddenly, I landed on a hard mass of burnt rock. Around me it was warm, and that warmness wasn't very welcoming. I felt a sensation of something lurking around, like a cat pouncing on a mouse.

"Hello?" I wanted to yell out. But oddly that sound didn't come out either. I wanted to cry. Where was I? I thought I was in my backyard with May. I swear I was. Unless it was...

"Aang we need to go NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed pulling Aang's hand and running.

"Why do we need to go?" He asked while running along side me.

"Just Because!!"

"Huh?"

"That person behind us scaring the living bananas out of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And of course, Aang turned around. And there standing behind us was the girl. We waited for an anwser but none came. She still had her trench kanzu, koti on but she had pulled off her hat. Black hair flowed down and lots of makeup designed her face.

"Who are wewe and why are wewe following us?" Aang said.

We waited for an answer but instead we got a strong jump of...

Okay so this is basically our time, but in the united states. What happened was that Katara actually kept a diary about her life and some historians found it on a small island close to Japan. The historians gave it to some movie directors, and they created the anime cartoon, Avatar the last airbender, based off Katara's diary. Now its 2010 and there are still benders around, but they keep their powers a secret because of the Nickolodean cartoon show, and because if anyone found a bender, they would be put in Jail. This all means that there is a modern siku Avatar as well. But all the modern...

Zuko stood up from his kiti cha enzi and approached the scared servant. He took the scroll from her hands and unrolled it. As he read it, noticed his eyes narrowing. After what felt like dakika the scroll burst into flames and the ashes fell to the floor.
"Zuko, what is it?" asked Katara standing up and walking to her friend, concerned.
Zuko ignored her and addressed a man a few seats down.
"Admiral Lee, get your men and ship ready to the Earth Kingdom. The Chikara Army has invaded the city of Gaoling."
"That's where Toph is!" exclaimed Sokka, horrified.
Zuko nodded and continued, "They've outnumbered...
