Over on tumblr someone had asked me for my opinions on this video: link It is about 50 dakika long, but, in my opinion, is well worth the watch. So I decided to watch it and give my thoughts.

I definitely agree with the first part where the narrator says that Azula’s psychology is the result of a broken family and poor parental upbringing.
But I do disagree with the sadism bit. I’ve typed about this many, many times. I feel like there was really only one time that sadism could be argued and that was when she smiled at the burning of Zuko’s face. But beyond that, I feel like sadism is...

I am quite sure every person in the Avatar fandom has heard about Zutara and Maiko dozens of times many of those occasions in complicated shipping wars something this makala is not here to initiate. But how many times have wewe heard of Jinko? How many even remember who Jin is? I am willing to bet not many. She was the girl that Zuko dated when he was stuck in Ba Sing Se as a fugitive of every nation including his nyumbani and was disguised as a refugee of the name "Lee". In Tales of Ba Sing Se.

Jin was a sweet, innocent, charming girl that had a crush on Zuko and frequented Pao's teashop a lot...

I've seen it commonly argued that Azula is a sadist and a killer and I disagree whole-heartedly for various reasons. For one thing, she is still a child, a child from an abusive and dysfunctional nyumbani at that. For seconds, I've always felt as though she has really done nothing different than any other character at the end of the day. I also believe that redemption is very possible for Azula. I wanted to elaborate on this kwa pulling things from old debates and makala I've written, just to throw my opinions into a zaidi organized format instead of having to re-type the same points every time...

The Last Airbender is a 2010 action film that was based on a beloved onyesha of the same name. The film got really bad reviews, but I actually really liked the film.

I only saw clips of the animated onyesha before watching the live action film so I'm judging this film kwa itself instead of comparing it to the show. I still haven't watched any full episodes, but I did enough research to understand the plot and characters.

The film focuses on Aang who's the avatar. He's discovered kwa a duo of siblings, Katara and Sokka, who become his friends. It's up to them to save the world from the evil moto Nation....

A big topic of discussion around Azula is usually what kind of mental illness she has, I tend to discuss that zaidi and put less talk into the reasons for her losing it.

I've always seen it as a combination of things. She was raised in a broken nyumbani with a banished mother and a banished and burned brother. I’ve always imagined that her father was very verbally abusive and put a lot of pressure on her to be perfect. And for a while she was perfect, but the dakika she Lost grip on that she started to slip. She was betrayed kwa both of her Marafiki and then very shortly after that blow her father...

So I was kusoma a post on tumblr that got me thinking. Basic gist is that someone alisema Azula couldn’t do anything on her own. My initial thought was to dispute that but then I kind of thought about it and realized this person was kind of right. But not just about Azula. After really thinking about it I realized that none of the characters really can! Hear me out guys; I’m not saying that the Avatar characters are useless on their own, but they are so much stronger when they have others to help them out. In fact I’d like to argue that this is an intended theme in Avatar. Like these characters...

Something that I think about and mention a lot is how Azula was raised. Namely that she was basically a human weapon for Ozai. He pretty much saw her raw talent as a kid, the potential for power, and groomed her as a war child. In doing this I think that he gave her a very warped sense of self worth among other things. For as hard as she pushes other people, I feel like she holds herself to very high-standards too; no doubt that it's because of how she was raised.

Despite her confidant bravado, I honestly I feel like Azula could be probably one of the most insecure characters on the show. Hear...

So I've been really into travel lately and dreaming of places I'd upendo to see. And then I got to thinking about what places some of my inayopendelewa characters might like to go to. So I thought I'd just consider where all of the Avatar characters might go to if they lived in our world.

Aang: I can see him liking Thailand. For me it's a very beautiful place that's just alive with all of the elements. I can see him enjoying a view like this;

That and Thailand has some very elegant temples that I think Aang would be fond of if he was in our world.

The Neatherlands would...

*Food in the Avatar World*

Naressa:

"Hey all. As some of wewe know and thank wewe for being so kind to reach out to me and speaking to me, though I work in the medical field now I am a culinary school graduate and worked for over a decade in the culinary arts field. Have always been very interested in the foods of Avatar, though they are rarely mentioned. As such, based on seeing them and the brief mention some chakula are given, thought I would open up a discussion about the chakula and recipes from ATLA and LoK. Want to share my recipes. All of the recipes I'll share have been tested kwa me yes? Please...

Say what wewe will about Azula, but she's no doubt a complex character and at this point I feel as though they can take her character in any direction; she could either stay evil au become some kind of force for good. Personally I'm hoping to see her become zaidi of a sassy anti-hero like Regina Mills, I feel like that would work for her.

With that in mind, the first reason that I feel Azula will be redeemed is that I feel as though Mike and Bryan have hinted at it. They've stated in various interviews that Azula is savable and isn't pure evil. A long time back I had purchased a book version...

I feel like TyZula is a bit of a controversial ship, people either upendo it au they hate it. So I wanted to explain what has me shipping TyZula.

First and foremost is the silly and minor fact that they look good together. Azula and Tylee are quite opposites right down to their looks. Azula is a zaidi mature, sharper beauty. Where TyLee is has softer, cuter, more-baby like features. And I think that those opposite features really work.

Similarly I think their personalities compliment each other as well. TyLee is very sweet and caring and optimistic. Azula is zaidi goal-oriented and a realist. For...

This makala may contain some spoilers, particularly for those who haven't read Smoke and Shadow yet.

In The tafuta one common thing that kept getting bought up was Ursa telling Azula to "take off that mask, only then will wewe see your true destiny." Recently another layer was added with the semi-recent announcement of the Kemurikage becoming the moto Warriors--the moto Nation equivalent of the Kyoshi Warriors. And naturally Azula is their leader.

This just got me thinking about Azula's fate in general. Personally, I think that this role (as a moto Warrior) suits her way zaidi than being the...

Azula hadn’t really considered her appearance in any sort of way at all, much less she hadn’t ever thought herself unattractive.
It never seemed to matter.
Never seemed to come up.
Being a princess, even a solider of sorts, beauty wasn’t something Azula ever thought she’d contemplate.

And yet, the princess found herself standing in front of the mirror wondering what was wrong. She never dwelled on her looks and so she never had the chance to realize that she wasn’t pretty in the slightest. Hadn’t had the chance until now.

The princess rubbed the wetness out of her eyes with the back...

Set up like the last two, here's an makala about five songs I think relate to Azula and why. Songs aren't in any particular order.

1. Dysfunctional Family kwa Cinema Bizarre: I'm a threat to myself I'm a get Armageddon I'm a freak I'm a liar I'm a flirt I deny that I'm no good then I mess It up This song basically reminds me of post-comet Azula. After a certain point she did become a threat to herself; I mean she'd do things like jumping off of Appa from a large height that very well could have killed her if Aang didn't intercept. And the liar thing is pretty self-evident. I mean it was quoted...

So I'm trying something different now. Usually I tend to type 'why I like my favorites' makala au 'why I don't like my least favorites'. So this time I decided to try something new and type about what I like about a character I'm not to fond of.
I decided to do this with Katara because, of all the characters on my dislike list, I think she's probably the most likable.

One of my inayopendelewa things about Katara is that she's just a genuinely nice girl. She always goes out of her way to help those who need her help--like that town she dressed as the Painted Lady for. I may not like her character...

One of the things I noticed about Avatar is the significance of the spirit disguises. Each disguise speaks volumes about the character using it and reflects their personality sort of like their bending styles.

I’ll start with the Painted Lady and Katara;

The real Painted Lady was a lot of things for the people of Jang Hui. She was a protector. A healer. A beacon of hope. She was a water spirit with assumably a gentle heart.

This is not unlike Katara herself. One of Katara’s key character traits was her hopefulness and the hope she instilled in other people. And in assuming the persona...

As I was posting on a different tumblr post I realized some things. Namely (and obviously each firebender has his/her own style.

Starting with Mako;

He tends to lightning bend with an open palm. The first shot is a bit hard to tell (as to whether au not his pinky and the finger inayofuata to it are actually touching his palm) either way around his bending is zaidi open then everyone else’s. Perhaps this is an indicatior that he doesn’t know how to do it as well, maybe it’s the opposite. Perhaps it’s simply another sign that the Avatar universe changed. As it got older there came...

The zaidi days that passed, the wearier Azula grew. She was tired of long flights on Appa listening to the Water Tribe siblings bicker. She was tired of setting up camp on chilly nights. And of finding some space to sleep that provided enough distance from the gang. But that always left her a distance from the moto and heaven forbid she tried to start her own.

She was tired of sleeping cold.

Most of all she was tired of trying to sleep with her mother talking so loudly in her ear.

Azula folded her arms over her chest, waiting for the Avatar and his Marafiki to mount Appa. She huffed in disgust....

It had been only three days since Azula arrived at Rockshire University. The campus, a rather large series of buildings sprawled throughout the rural area. Azula found the setting to be ill-suited for a campus that specialized in areas urban business, marketing, and cooperation.
That was after all what she decided to go there for—aspiring to be only the school’s best business major (minoring in psychology ofcourse)...a straight A, top-of-her-classes goal.

It would be…awkward not having Mai and Ty-Lee around to Converse and discuss matters with. Back in their high school and middle school—and...

Before anything else is stated I want it to be known that I do upendo both Azula and Zuko; so no this isn't gonna be a Zuko hate/bash Zuko article.

So instead of getting straight into the actual matter of the agni kai, I'd like to go over why I think Azula in general is zaidi powerful than Zuko. This I will post from an older makala (so if wewe read this one wewe may as well just scroll down lol); First and foremost, the obvious; Azula has Blue moto (supposedly hotter than any other fire) on the show. This is something unique to Azula and Azula alone. Where as Bloodbending is not unique to Katara....
