Why is it that tenzin au his children don't own au use a staff for flying ?

It is considered a traditional airbender tool/weapon, so why they don't use one. I'm not usualy the person who cares about such things, but it just keeps bugging me so i really want to know this :D

If I had to guess as to why Tenzin doesn't use one, it could be to do with age. And they don't really seem to need one most of the time anyway, so that may be why we hardly ever see them.
