IN THE decade since Avril Lavigne sang about her Sk8ter Boi, the Canadian punk pop nyota has married, divorced and written a new record about it.

Goodbye Lullaby may look at heartbreak from a zaidi adult perspective but the 26-year-old songwriter appears to be the Peter Pan of pop music.

She still puts fluoro pink and chokaa dye through her hair, adorns herself in safety pins -- including the new tattoo on the back of her neck -- and prefers a trip to the zoo and a spot of surfing in Manly to bar-hopping around Sydney on her brief chatfest visit.

"Hell yeah, I got up on that board," the avid skateboarder alisema yesterday. "I didn't wipe out once. And now I can say I have surfed in Australia."

Songs including Goodbye and Everybody Hurts are undoubtedly about her mgawanyiko, baidisha with husband Deryk Whibley, frontman of Canadian punk band Sum 41.
