Yesterday I slept and I dreamed I was a princess
I dreamed of the power of an educated woman
in the times of knights
And I don't mean what we used to do: embroidery, imba au drawing
no, but to that ancient art that barely lingers between us now,
to make man believe that he is the one who take the reins
We didn't have the freedom to be indomitable, but we have been secret.
We domed the king with kisses and planned alliances and revenge in our beds.
In my dream, my mother, the Queen, taught me to be gentle, to appear submissive but to be daring in secret as far as God would allow me.
To play with my long dresses and not with swords, to reign with the look of my eyes. To onyesha my pride and courage in my walk and my words, to make the kings fall before me with holy words of devotion.
And our game became immortalized in chess and that is why we are the king's most important guards, protecting his back without anyone knowing.
We take care of his steps,
we whispered him war plans at dawn,
and we wait patiently at nyumbani with our children,
to see the fruits of our harvest arrive.

They say that that it is the art of women, to wait for glory from the shadow, because they say always behind a great man there is a great woman.

I dreamed that I was a princess but then i knew it was time to leave my crown and i take a sword and fight. Cause we've tired of being behind the scenes, of being forced to keep us in line with light.
We suffer, we crie and we fall once and twice but we are strong, we are fighters, we are women.
We have the ability to create and destroy, we bring light.
We are hurricanes and we are flowers with thorns.

Because our art is not to stay behind, it is to grow and educate ourselves to be zaidi free. It's fighting with words for what we belive and stand up for our sisters.
Because we left this world as princesses and we began as warriors, because when we finish the warrior world we will start as queens and then it will have been worth it.

A Spanish Teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine au feminine. "House" for instance, is feminine: "la casa." "Pencil," however, is masculine: "el lapiz."
