'Big Hero 6' Sequel Rumors: Hiro's Brother Tadashi Secretly Survived, Will Join 'Big Hero 7' Team

Big Hero 6" sequel in the works, but we\'re pretty confident it will eventually. It earned not only more than half a billion dollars worldwide at the box office, but critical acclaim and an Academy Award for best animated feature as well. And while directors Don Hall and Chris Williams have both said they\'re not even thinking about a sequel yet, it seems like it\'s just a matter of time before rumblings of "Big Hero 7" start.

MoviePilot writer Jon Negroni agrees, and even has some ideas about where the sequel will probably go.

After saying the film will most likely be called "Big Hero 7", he writes, "That \'7\' will belong to a character we know from the first movie: Tadashi. I’m calling it right now. He’ll be a villain of sorts in the sequel, inevitably joining the team fully to add that number (after all, \'Big Hero 6 2\' is just weird branding)."

Negroni goes on to point out the golden movie rule: "If there’s no body, that character is alive." There was certainly a funeral for Tadashi, but no body to bury or cremate, as he (was assumed to have) died in a fire.

"The inclusion of a fire is tantamount to how this theory works," continues Negroni. "Where do you think it came from? Most likely, one of the inventions, and no one else apparently died from its flames. I believe this invention had to do with nuclear energy. Why? Because \'Big Hero 6\' (and Disney) is purposefully setting up Tadashi to be Sunfire, one of the original members of the first \'Big Hero 6\' team and a prominent character in the Marvel universe."
