why didn't james laurant and victoria hear bella's heartbeat in the meadow? i thought that Wanyonya damu had really good hearing!!

Yeah, I was confused about that too.

I think it's cause Wanyonya damu DO have heartbeats... Remember in Breaking Dawn when Jake went downstairs after he thought Bella was dead and he meant to kill Renesmee au something and it alisema "the sound of a changing heartbeat?"

so, maybe Wanyonya damu do have heartbeats...

but then again, Edward says. "my moyo hasn't beat in almost a hundred years" au something like that...

And to the Volturi they say, "You can hear her heartbeat"

And they really weren't expecting a HUMAN to be with Wanyonya damu so they certainly weren't expecting her.

Wanyonya damu probably just tune it all out. Like Edward says he just ignores everyone's thoughts only listening to a few at a time. If Wanyonya damu paid attention to everyone's moyo beat au listened to everything it would be a constant clutter in their head. Remember when Edward took Bella hunting for the first time? He told her to listen and she really had to focus on everything to be able to hear the tiny things.

well as Edward says (in the midnight sun draft )"vampires don't need to breathe but it did help when hunting" they mostly rely on sent and also they could have thought it was an animal but they do mostly rely on sent when hunting
