A New Buffy Board Game Is Coming, And Yes, Spike’s In It

? I do. 2-5 players tryi to collect resources to destroy one of four “big bads” chosen at random. One player had to be the villain, but everyone else got to control Buffy, Xander, Willow, or Oz. If you had less than five players, whoever wasn’t playing the villain could control multiple good guys. Each villain offered different win conditions and minions. It was generally a pretty fun time, and people still try to hunt it down when they can. I’m kinda kicking myself for not hanging on to my copy.

Even though the beloved TV show got cancelled over a decade ago, the series has lived on through comics and fandom. So here’s some exciting news: Jasco Games and Lynnvander Studios are producing a new

“…the cooperative board game has players take the role of Buffy and her friends as they defend the town of Sunnydale from an onslaught of vampires and demons. There is also the goal of unraveling the plot of the real Big Bad, who is scheming to open the Hellmouth. Players must work together using all their resources, including character’s special abilities, to help the defenseless residents of Sunnydale.”

That’s about all we know of the details. Nothing has been revealed yet about how the actual gameplay mechanics will unfold, but we’re pretty excited to find out.
