This is very similar to the one on the Disney Princess club, except here you can say your unpopular opinion about any of the CAMH characters or movie. Please state your opinion in a polite way, and when you're replying to someone please be polite, even if you disagree with their opinion.

I think people mistake calling a one-dimensional character a bad character. I mean, I call Aurora a one-dimensional character and a lot of her fans get really bin out of shape because they think it means that they're a bad character. There is nothing wrong with liking a one-dimensional character and I think a lot of people just won't admit that a character they like is one-dimensional. I'm not just talking about Aurora but with a lot of other characters too. I mean, I love Gogo, Honey Lemon, and Wasabi from Big Hero 6 but they are one-dimensional characters, which I think is undeniable.
UnholyNoise commented…
I think the problem people have is with presenting your opinion as undeniable fact and it might be putting some of aurora's fans, who might be personally very attached to her, and who may have some reasonable arguments for why she isn't one-dimensional, on the defensive. I've heard people say the same thing about some of my own inayopendelewa characters, so I can sort of see where they're coming from. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

I really, really hate the common thinking that uses a character's amount of screen time to measure how important they are to a movie. Like honestly, a character could only be around for a few scenes, but influence the protag or the plot in some pretty heavy ways, while a character who eats up a ton of screen time may not have much influence over how the movie plays out. Maybe a different yardstick is needed: imagine the movie without that character in it, and see how much the story changes -- what does or doesn't happen, what happens differently? I hope I'm making sense here, I have a hard time explaining things sometimes...

I honestly don't think that the Disney sequels are as bad as people make them out to be. I mean, most of them are really harmless. I mean, there aren't very many that I think are awful and I just barely have enough to make a top 10 worst Disney sequels list. Even the ones that are really bad, even the awful ones, aren't as painful as a lot of people make them out to be. I mean, none of them are even deserving to be among the top 10 worst Disney movies. I mean, I've seen A LOT of AWFUL movies, both animated and live-action, and I can tell you there are A LOT worse out there, which make the Disney sequels really look harmless. I won't deny there are some bad sequels but that doesn't mean all of them are bad. There are a lot of decent ones and even some that I would describe as great and up to regular Disney's standards (yes, I went there).

I agree. There's no denying that some of the sequels are bad, but I've seen much worse movies. I think people hold Disney to a higher standard and expect everything they do to be AMAZING! zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

I always wanted a sequel to Alice in Wonderland, but something animated and more similar to the book and the animated movie in tone and themes than what Tim Burton did. More whimsy and random, if you will.

I think Anastasia Tremaine is unconventionally beautiful. She was ugly in the first movie but that's because the animators were trying to make her unattractive, as opposed to the sequels where they try to make her facial structure and smile more appealing.

I don't know how unpopular this actaully is, but right now I'm sick of people coming up with these crazy fan theories and trying to pass them off as facts. (Ex. Minnie is really Scrooge's sugar baby, Grumpy wants to have sex with Snow White, Flynn left Rapunzel as a sign of her loosing her virginity) I mean, you really need some kind of proof to back a fact. And in my opinion, unless something is actaully shown, or stated, or at least STRONGLY implied, you really have no proof to back yourself up. I think if somebody comes up with a theory that they believe is true they should say something like, "I think _____ happened, because I think they hint at it here"( Or something like that) But if they don't have actaully proof of it they shouldn't treat it like a fricking fact!

I like shabiki theories in general -- I'm always bouncing around headcanon ideas on tumblr and I like hearing it from other people, but -- and i don't want to sound like a prude for saying this -- the sex-themed ones are usually among the stupidest. I think people come up with them for shock value. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

Some are interesting, some are just funny (The Beast is totally Chip's dad ;P), but the great majority of these theories try way too hard (like those dumb "omg Pokemon/Steven Universe/etc etc ndoto onyesha is actually about a kid in a coma/mentally unstable who imagined all the ndoto world the onyesha is based on"). They often seem too sad and trying too hard to "ruin our childhoods" zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

Like, why can't ndoto stories just be ndoto stories? Why can't some people accept nowadays that some stories may take place in a ndoto reality? Why do they think linking it to a harsh reality is "better" (a kid in a coma)? zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

This'll be reaaally unpopular, but I have to say it: I don't get why the fandom is so in love with Molly Grue. Every appreciation of the last unicorn basically boils down to "Molly Grue IS TEH BESTEZT EVAH" and such, and i really don't get it...i mean, she's not really the main character of the story. She doesn't contribute much to the plot when compared to other characters like Schmendrick or the Unicorn or even Lir. Sure, she has a nice introduction scene, but in the rest of the movie she just kinda phases out and doesn't do much besides being snarky.

Eh.

I think a lot of people find her zaidi relatable than Amalthea, because she is (for lack of a better word) zaidi human. Also while she doesn't play a huge role she tries to be a good friend and help her Marafiki with their quest. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

Speaking as a big fan of a lot of different villains, I personally think The Joker is pretty overrated. I mean he's not a bad villain, but he's also kind of standard and one/two dimensional compared to the rest of the Batman villains. He mean he wants money, power, revenge on Batman...same old stuff, and his personality never grows and we never find out more about him. It's just the same old song and dance ever time. My top 5 favorite Batman villains, are Mr. Freeze, Harely Quinn, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman (who's arguably an anti-hero), and to me they all have much more depth and are much more interesting than Joker.

I love the songs in The Road to El Dorado. I don't even like Elton John in general, but I really liked the lyricism of songs like The Trail We Blaze, and overall I thought they meshed well with what was going on in the movie. ("Without Question" did a great job at capturing how completely Miguel fell in love with El Dorado and its people; I thought it was clever that it sounded like a typical love song but it was actually about a different kind of love.) Maybe it's because I grew up with El Dorado and really wasn't familiar with Elton John outside of it so I didn't feel like "it's another celebrity soundtrack ugh" -- more like the reverse actually. Whenever I hear a song of his I'm like, "Oh, it's that guy from Road to El Dorado!"

Anyway, I don't get why the Nostalgia Critic and other reviewers rip on this and then go on to gush over the songs in, say, Frozen, which lyrically and sonically aren't as good; the difference is that the characters aren't singing them. I liked that, too: Miguel and Tulio weren't bursting into song every five minutes. They really don't seem like the type :)

I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but I think fans of damsel in distress characters are hypocrites. I mean, they hate how damsels in distress are always being hated on while action girls are praised. However, they go right around and hate on action girls just because they're action girls and aren't girly or sophisticated or proper like damsels in distress are. Whether a character is a damsel in distress or an action girl shouldn't matter but rather their personality. There are damsels in distress that are good and there are those that suck, same with action girls. I wish people would stop hating on the other group of characters and just like them for their personalities. But while the fans of damsels in distress are hating on action girls for basically the opposite reason of action girl fans hating on damsels in distress, they're pretty much proving that they're no better than they are and end up being hypocrites.

wewe know, if wewe don't like something I say, KL, wewe should say it to my face. I'm sorry wewe don't like people disagreeing with wewe but that's no reason to be so petty and passive aggressive about it. Disagreeing with wewe isn't "hating", but a lot of your kura za maoni are actually hating on characters, so this is pretty hypocritical. If wewe don't like something, just ignore it au calmly explain why like I try to do. also, this is far from an unpopular opinion. part of the reason I talk about it so much is because the "damsels" are unpopular and get so much hate as a means to praise the "cooler" heroines. let's keep drama out of the forum. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

When was that? I don't really recall us being in any fights (that I know of, at least). We don't agree on much but we always seemed at least civil to each other. Also just because wewe are unaware of others trashing action girls just because damsels in distress get hate, that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I mean there are plenty of characters I didn't know got hate and am still surprised about, like Rachel from Boy Meets World, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. wewe may think wewe are the only one who does it but you're not, including outside of Fanpop. Here's a confession I made on the sister forum on the Disney Princess club.

"I honestly don't see any problem with someone constantly making polls about a certain character or movie that they love. I've seen people get upset because they're annoyed by their obsession. So what? Just ignore it! I mean, isn't it better to obsess over something positive than to obsess over something negative? If someone is bugged by an obsession I have, I really don't care because it's not my problem. If someone is bugged over an obsession someone has than maybe they shouldn't be on here, since people are supposed to be allowed to express their love and opinion over things they enjoy."

This definitely hits close to me because of the huge and ugly mess that happened when I was obsessed with Lola Bunny, not to start anything. I mean, there's a new user obsessing over Snow White and I just say, more power to her and if anyone complains, just ignore it and move on.

I ADORE Ariel and Melody equally but I think from an objective and critical stand-point that Melody is a better character than Ariel. I mean, she does have a lot of the same traits as Ariel (since she's her freaking DAUGHTER) but also has her own traits. Ariel is very confident, a social butterfly, and comfortable in her own skin. Melody on the other hand is very insecure, shy, socially awkward, clumsy (on land at least), and feels like there is something wrong with her. She overcomes her flaws and learns to be comfortable with herself, admits she makes mistakes, and fixes her mistakes. I do think Ariel realized she made a mistake but Melody is definitely more developed than her and does fix her mistakes.

Oh boy, I'm sure everybody who reads this is going to think I'm being bias. And that I'm just saying this because I love him so much. So here it goes. I've personally never thought Uncle Scrooge had THAT harsh a personality. I mean yeah it's harshER than the average Disney hero like Simba, Hercules, or Aladdin. And it's harsher than a lot of characters from the Mickey Mouse and Friends franchise like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Clarabelle, and Max. But I don't really see that it's any harsher than Donald, Daisy or Huey, Dewey and Louie. Donald with his explosive temper(even to the point of hurting the boys), Daisy with her egocentrism(acting like she doesn't care about Minnie), and the boys alway doing mean spirited pranks(even stealing their uncles cars and money).

When I think of heroes/heroines with really harsh personalities characters like Ironman, Peter Pan and the kids from Jessie come to mind, since all of them basically think the world revolves around them, and at least appear to care about nobody else. Some other characters that come to mind are ones like Iago that never wants to admit he cares about his friends, is always trying to stealing from the place, and never takes responsibility. Or Anger who is alway angry no matter what. Not Scrooge, who has some flaws (most notably greed) that he's trying over come and that sometimes get the best of him. And on top of that it's made extremely clear that adores his family, and would give his life or money for them.

I don't like how most people hold non-Disney movies at such a high regard. According to them, if it's a Disney movie it can do whatever shit it can, but if it's non-Disney, it must be something super boring, super serious and adult and complex, and yadda yadda. When a non-Disney movie is silly and sorta follows the Disney formula, it gets shit on like nothing. It seems the only films that get respect are the Secret of NIMH and the Iron Giant (and i like those films, but not as much as my faves, tbh).

Absolutely! wewe know if Disney had done something like El Dorado au Sinbad, both of which I upendo but aren't anything special in the way that Prince of Egypt au NIMH are, wewe know people would be raving about how charming and irreverent they are. I will be perfectly honest when I say that I don't like Batman AT ALL! He's not a very interesting character and is just really DULL! Yes, he has a tragic backstory but he's still not very interesting or entertaining. I find PLENTY of characters from the Batman universe to be MUCH more interesting than him. Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Batgirl, Robin (the Teen Titans version), Catwoman (especially her), and even Joker (who I do find to be pretty one-dimensional but admittedly mysterious, since he doesn't even remember his own backstory because he's changed it so many times). He has no real charm to him or has an entertaining personality. He has a personality but it's so dull and he's basically just a tragic backstory and kicking butt.

I don't find Meg from Hercules to be attractive AT ALL! I think she's ugly. I love her and she does have some pretty moments but overall is ugly. I HATE her body, her hair looks like is has 100 bottles of 80's hair gel in it, her facial structure is too bony and sharp, her nose is too pointy, her smile is creepy, she has turtle lips, and WEIRD eyebrows. Yes, I know that's part of the style of the animation but that doesn't mean that it's good or that she's pretty. I love her but I NEVER understood why so many people find her to be so stunning.
UnholyNoise commented…
Hahaha, I have pretty much the reverse opinion: I'm actually a shabiki of her character design, and I'd much rather look at her than at someone completely generic-looking like Belle au Ariel. Her body has a lot of hard angles, which is weird, and she's super bony. But I find attractive characters who are drawn with non-standard designs au aren't meant to be "hot." I like that nobody else really looks like Meg. But I waver on whether I actually like her as a character. I upendo that she's not exactly noble at the beginning, and I upendo the saercasm, but she's basically the lowest point of the '90s heroine stereotype -- that's what nearly all of her dialogue is, just these really obnoxious Strong Female Character cliches. And there isn't much else to her character imo. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

Pretty much what UnHoly said, she has a cool ubunifu but not a very appealing character. And I'd say Anya is the worst in terms of sassy 90s heroines, tbh. If Meg is snarky and tends to say one-liners, that's 90% of what Anya's character is. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

Anastasia the movie is fun but I can't get into the main characters and the romance. Anya is probably the worst of the "sassy 90s heroines" cliche and Dimitri is an ass throughout the whole movie. Their romance is so cliched and basically are what started the whole "love-hate road trip romance" cliche that's so popular in animated films nowadays. Not to mention that the ending where Anya abandons her old grandmother (her only living family, the one person she had been looking for her whole life) to run off with Dimitri really soils the character for me.

I'm sure you all knew this was coming, but I gotta ask: Where -- where?? -- are people getting the idea that Tzipporah is the lead heroine in Prince of Egypt? It's all over the animation fandom on tumblr, and there's a freaking poll about this on Fanpop and... did y'all not watch the movie?

Not to knock her at all -- I really like Tzipporah as a character, and I love that she takes the lead in courting Moses (that "dance with me!" thing is adorable) and she takes him under her wing out in the desert -- but let's be real: at best, she shares equal co-heroine status with Miriam. At worst, she's close to being a satellite love interest, due to her romance with Moses really not being the focal point of the movie.

It wouldn't grind my gears so hard, except Miriam does way more to move the plot: she's responsible for telling Moses who he is -- which is THE most important plot point in the whole movie -- she's the one who gets Moses to intervene for that old slave being whipped; she stands by Moses when he comes back (Miriam's speech is what inspires Moses to confront Rameses with the first plague), AND she's the one who sets off the huge mood shift brought about by When You Believe. And she is definitely more fleshed out in terms of motives and background. Yet all her work is constantly diminished because there's someone who does way less but looks edgy and badass doing it .

(Honestly, a lot of us who are active in the PoE fandom are baffled by this. -- not as much as all the Moses/Rameses shipping, but it's up there!)

**TL; DR: It's cool if you like Tzipporah more than Miriam, or if you're not a fan of Miriam at all, but to say that her role is minor and that Tzipporah is actually the lead heroine is objectively, provably wrong.**

I'm guessing she's zaidi well known because she's the upendo interest. I notice usually in sinema where there's zaidi than one female character the one that gets juu billing often happens to be the upendo interest. There are aversions to this, of course, but the image always stand out. Maybe she's thought to be the main female character because she shows up a lot zaidi in zaidi scenes than Miriam and has a sorta "Lively" personality that makes her stand out. Miriam has attitude too, but I notice most female characters who are introverted don't really get much appreciation (AKA what happens with Amalthea and Molly in TLU, the fandom there are rabid Molly fangirls and If i even dare to make a critique against her they'll hound me up). zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

^ I have to disagree. Moses had already saved Jethro's daughters from bandits before he was, uh, reunited with Tzipporah; so Jethro would've been zaidi than welcoming to him imo, and Moses had nowhere else to go. But anyway, fanpop is probably the one place where Miriam gets any recognition for anything outside of the PoE diehards on tumblr. (And even then on here it's just that they like her better, she still doesn't get much credit as an integral character) Everywhere else, the common perception is that Miriam is secondary to Tzipporah; I've been involved in the PoE fandom on and off for years, so I've got a pretty good idea of what i'm talking about. Also, I'm not trying to rag on Tzipporah at all -- again, I like her -- just like it's not really a knock at Yocheved au Queen Tuya to say that objectively, Tzipporah''s role is much zaidi integral than theirs. au if I'd alisema that her role is bigger than Aaron's. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

I always preferred Digimon over Pokemon...I mean I like the Pokemon games a lot, and I used to watch the show as a kid, but it always felt sorta meh to me (i now see it as being really dumb...). For me I upendo Pokemon (at least the seasons with Misty in them) but I can definitely say that if someone told me they didn't like the onyesha that I would completely understand why. It's not a onyesha for everyone. It's definitely not good now. Ever since Misty left the onyesha went downhill. When May and Max joined they were likable enough characters but not enough to keep my interest and didn't contribute much to the group (more to their own story). It was when they got new voice actors (who sound NOTHING like the original voices) and new writers. So none of the characters were enjoyable after that and it just keeps getting worse. As for Digimon, I watched a little bit of that growing up but not very much. I'm honestly not a fan of the Despicable Me films. I've only seen the first movie but I heard that the sequel and the Minions movie were pretty much filled with the same things that I don't like about the original, except without nearly as much heart. For me the only good part of the movie was the little girls and their relationship with Gru. The girls are enjoyable and the only funny moments the movie has comes from them. The relationship between them and Gru is actually really well-done. Unfortunately, there's also the bad and forced humor (especially from the Minions), lame and too simple designs, average animation, standard and kind of annoying characters, the Minions are irritating as hell, a story that's just not very interesting, and the overall bland atmosphere of the whole movie. I was really shocked with how much people love these movies (mainly the first one). I thought it would just be an average CGI film that everyone would forget soon after. But than again I thought people would be like that with How To Train Your Dragon and look how UNBELIEVABLY popular that piece of crap surprisingly is. But the original Despicable Me isn't bad, it's just average and mediocre. But I definitely have NO INTEREST AT ALL in seeing the sequel and especially the spin-off.

I don't think that Miley Cyrus did a bad job voicing Penny from Bolt. She preforms the part very well, adds a lot of depth to a character that really doesn't have much to her, helps make the relationship between Penny and Bolt seem more genuine, and you get her emotional struggle of losing Bolt and having to let him go to keep people from losing their jobs. Serena/Usagi/Sailor Moon is especially annoying in my opinion. People say she gets better but she really doesn't. Rini, who is apparently Serena's daughter from the future but neither one realizes it, calls Serena out for what a dimwit she is that acts reckless and selfish. Plus when the two of them find out that the two of them are mother and daughter in the future, Serena is the one who acts horrible to Rini and it's Rini that just says something bad to Serena to counter it. Like when her future dad is helping her with her homework and Serena gets jealous and tries to steal his attention. She even says to her own daughter (knowing that she is her daughter) that it doesn't matter if she's smart because she'll never get married. I'm really surprised that Rini gets so much hate but Serena gets praise and love from people.

One minute their blog will be all 100% Adventure Time, and tomorrow it'll be all about Steven Universe. Granted, I'll admit I do hop back and forth between fandoms as well, but the way it's generally done on tumblr strikes me off? Like they only seem to like movies and stuff because they're what's popular at the moment. Steven Universe now is really popular, so everyone is obsessed with it. Bet you anything once that ends or the show does something "problematic", the tumblrinas will obsess over another show and forget all about SU (much like how they did with Adventure Time and Korra). IDK it seems off and shallow to me. Like they only like things because they're popular, not because they personally enjoy them or whatever. Or maybe i'm speaking from experience, since while I do hop fandoms at least I will always try to enjoy them (and for the most part aside from a few exceptions my fandoms tend to be a little on the underrated side, so you can tell I like those shows not for the popularity).

I really don't get it when people draw racebended fanart of canonical japanese characters that come from anime for example.

Wanna draw them in a more realistic style and make them look more like real japanese people? Sure, do so. But do anything like massively change their race that they're not even japanese anymore is just...Ugh.

I really don't get people who racebend characters who are already nonwhite (or are like Honey or Wanda, who are a white latina and a light skinned Roma respectively; are we gonna dismiss their experiences just because their skin color doesn't fit the stereotypical image we have of latinos and romanis?). It just seems another way of being racist imo. Like it doesn't matter if you're already part of a nonwhite group, if your skin is still "white looking" enough you're still not right (asian characters seem to be the bane of these SJW artists).

(Then again I'm gonna be honest and say I just prefer to give attention to canonical nonwhite characters than glorify redesigned characters bc often I feel racebending done on the internet (on TV and movies it's okay, it's with the internet that I have the problem with) is just based on racist assumptions and it makes me feel bad bc at times they seem to perpetuate stereotypes ("oh, this character is feisty and sassy! she should totally be a latina!" "this character is quiet and shy and demure, she's totally a muslim! (never mind Islam is a religion and not a race, lol)" "this character has curly hair! she definitely must be black!" etc etc)).

I honestly don't think that the Bratz are bad role models AT ALL! Yes, I know they're dolls but they've had their own animated TV series and several animated movies, so it counts. Anyway, yes, they dress revealingly and are called Bratz. However, just because someone is dressed a certain way it doesn't make them a bad person, it's who they are on the inside. I mean, Esmeralda is very sexual but she's a strong woman that wants equality for everyone. Besides, look at Sailor Moon! Those girls are 14 years old and they dress like they're college students or something. Yes, I know that in Japan the legal sex age is 13 (as long as it's with other 13-17 year olds) and that's why they're drawn that way. I think it's weird but I guess it's just cultural differences. Anyway, the Bratz are at least in late high school and really don't dress that inappropriately. I mean, I've seen MUCH worse.

Plus they actually do send some good messages that people don't think about because of the way they're dressed. The dolls actually do teach girls that school and learning is fun, at least the talking ones do. But with the TV series and the movies, they teach girls to stand by your friends no matter what, to be true to yourself and never be afraid to express who you are, and to take something that is meant to be an insult (Brats for example) and turn it into something completely different and all their own to show that words can't bring them down (Turned Brats to Bratz). I think those are really good lessons for girls to learn. Plus, they actually did something in a movie of the Bratz Kids where they did something that would make A LOT of people who are tired of hearing the DIsney Princesses get hated on (especially the classic ones) really happy. At the beginning of the movie they are talking bad about the fairy-tale heroines they have to portray for their school play (Rapunzel, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, and Cinderella) saying that they would do a lot better in their situations. A magic frog takes them up on that offer and they learn that it's not as easy as they thought it would be and barely made it out alive. In the end they learn to appreciate the fairy-tale heroines and REALLY respect them! That's a rare message now a days in the traditional fairy-tale bashing world we're currently living in.

Plus they're all women of color that OBVIOUSLY were not meant to look like real people. I mean, I have nothing against Barbie but she is realistic looking and only has one real look and is pretty much the only character of the Barbie world of any importance (everyone else is just a Barbie accessory). With the Bratz they all come in different colors and races that little girls can imagine that if the doll did look like a real person that she'd look like them. She could be fat, not very pretty, or whatever. They can imagine whatever they want. Plus the four main Bratz: Yasmin, Cloe, Sasha, and Jade all have their own unique personality and depth to them. Yasmin is a Latina that doesn't fit the sassy Latina female stereotype because she's pretty shy and is actually really passive and against violence but will fight ONLY if she needs to. Plus she's an activist for the environment and animals, is a vegetarian, and loves to write. Cloe is the blonde, blue-eyed white girl but isn't really a girly girl. She's actually an athletic feminine tomboy. She can do a variety of sports but also is an over the top drama queen that can surprisingly give others really good advice. She's a tomboy but doesn't know a thing about camping, which shows that not all tomboys know everything about the outdoors (which many think tomboys do know about). Sasha is the sassy African American chick but she's also shown to be the most selfish and the control freak, which unlike a lot of characters like this, does get called out for it. But she is determined and is shown to be the one who pulls the group together when things fall apart. Jade is the Asian fashionista of the group but isn't just about fashion. She cared about her friends and is really open-minded about things. Unlike Cloe, the tomboy, Jade was really excited about camping

Yes, I'm a straight guy that watched Bratz growing up but I'm not crazy about them like I was when I was a kid but I do still like them. I do understand they're not for everyone because they are kind of too girly for my taste. But I hate how when people say they're bad role models it's because of the way they dress and because they're "valley girl bimbos." They do have some depth and layers to them. But again, it all depends on personal taste but I feel they get too much hate and I had to defend them for nostalgia reasons, I suppose. Sorry for the LONG confession.

When it comes to animated series, I really don't think people should be such snobs with how appealing the animation style is. I honestly don't care about how great the style as long as the series is great.Of course a nice style is great, but people should judge based on the series itself. If the style is so god damn hideous awful to look at then I can totally understand. Besides there really aren't that many animated series with a really impressive or aesthetically pleasing style. Avatar is a rare example. (Well Western animations at least). With Adventure Time I can understand people's problem since the the style is extremely simple and so uncreative that even someone with no artistic talent can come up with those designs. With something with the style of something like say,Steven Universe, people shouldn't be so judgmental solidly based on the style. I don't really find it beautiful to look at (although there are some characters with cool designs), but I really like because of the content and characters. There are some series I can like where the style is nothing great to look at like Bob's Burgers(I know it's stupid, but I love it because it's enjoyable and it has some interesting characters like Tina), Powerpuff Girls and so on. When it comes to anime, I'm more picky about it though, (mostly because I have problems with anime in general) like my cousin wanted to get me into Code Geass, but I couldn't finish the first episode because the style really bothered me(and it was boring too). Ironically, one of my favorite animes, Hetalia had some cheap ass and wonky animation in it's earlier seasons (Thank God they eventually changed it with high quality style and animation). Considering that I'm a visual person with high standards when it comes to pretty much anything, I'm pretty open about animation styles.

I agree, yet I'm guilty of this. I rarely watch anything (movies au shows), now that I've been very busy, so I want to make the things I do make time to see "worth it". In other words, I'm skeptical about trying new movies/shows, and I make judgments based on art style, internet reviews, etc. which I shouldn't do. I guess it's just because, again, I don't get the chance to watch much of anything, so I'm particular, and also because I'm an art freak. But I definitely agree with you. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

Yeah, it's not that great but it's not horrible au even bad like I thought it would be. When I saw the episode where Amethist thinks of herself as a mistake because of what she is, that was powerful. So while it's nothing fantastic au that special, it does have it's powerful moments and ujumla, jumla is cute and fun. I've seen MUCH better animated shows! zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

The only swali I have is if you've ever watched it? If wewe haven't because it's just not your thing than I do understand that. I'm like that with Game of Thrones and Lord of The Rings. Just don't be judging it as bad au awful before watching it, that's all I have to say. Well, actually one last thing for me to tell you, DON'T WATCH THE LIVE-ACTION MOVIE VERSION OF IT, THE LAST AIRBENDER! IT'S AWFUL! Especially since wewe haven't watched the show, you'll just be REALLY confused kwa it (even with the never ending exposition) and will just turn wewe off kwa the onyesha even more. But it's actually an excellent onyesha and my inayopendelewa onyesha with some of my inayopendelewa fictional characters. It has great animation, well-written characters, is perfectly paced, stayed around as long as it needed to, is hilarious, and the two main villains (Zuko and Azula) are really complex and it explains why they are the way they are. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

And of course my inayopendelewa character is Katara (just look at my freaking user name). Also, I'm not going to call wewe a bigot (whatever that is) au a racist just because the onyesha doesn't appeal to you. Boy, I alisema zaidi than I intended to say. I lovee it when it was on and binge watched it with my best friend once till I had to go nyumbani and she finished it without me. Anyway, it was really funny, well animated, interesting world building... But there's something about it now I can't put my finger on. I think in part it's that I can't really get involved in any of the characters (just Aang at best, he's cute). And the fandom treating it as the bestestestest cartoon ever can be a turnoff zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

Adventure Time is an AWFUL show! I have no idea how this got so popular! I mean, I'll see people talking around with Adventure Time merchandise, whether if it's adults or kids. How did this crap become such a hit? It can't be because it's good! I mean, just because something is popular it doesn't mean it's good. I mean, shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Toddlers and Tiaras, and Jersey Shore are popular and they are horrible shows. The designs are so lame and uncreative that even a five year old could draw them, the animation is bland and basic, the characters are annoying as hell, the humor is horrendous, the writing makes me feel like the writers are on crack when they write the episodes, there is no character development, the plot isn't coherent, the little plot they do have is stupid (All the humans but Finn were killed during the mushroom war? What? Did Princess Peach finally get tired of being a damsel in distress that she took it out on everyone else by killing all humans with her mushroom army?), and the protagonist never changes or learns anything.

Finn has a selfish desire, some obvious bad guy that any idiot could figure out was a bad guy except our dimwitted main character fools Finn, Finn sees that he made a stupid mistakes, gets angry, beats up the villain until he or she undos everything, they do it because they're lame villains, Finn gets praise for saving them, and he continues to do the same thing in the next episode because he doesn't learn from his mistakes. In the first episode he even says that he can't wait to break another royal promise, so he can fight another monster or something. The only characters with depth to them are Marceline (The Vampire Queen) and the Ice King because of their pasts and history together. Princess Bubblegum is also pretty likable but nothing special and Fire Princess is alright. The rest are annoying.

It's actually one of the worst shows EVER in my opinion and that's saying A LOT! I'm not hating it just because it's new, I'm hating it because of how poorly done it is. There are plenty of new shows that are good but this isn't one of them. The fans annoy me even more! I said I hated it and I was attacked and said that unless I watch the entire show I can't judge it. Why? Why should I have to suffer through the entire show just to judge what I already think is awful? I watched the first three seasons and that was enough! I'm not going to torture myself just to get to what others consider when the show gets really good!

I agree, Adventure Time is totally awful, and has NO logic to it. I only saw a few episodes of it, and that was zaidi than enough for me. I haven’t dealt with any Adventure Time fans, but I know what it’s like to deal with annoying stuck-up fans. That’s exactly how the mashabiki of Don Rosa’s Scrooge upendo to treat DuckTales fans. They’re always telling me that I can’t understand the depth and complexity of Rosa’s Scrooge in unless I’ve read all his comics, au they wouldn’t expect someone who likes childish things like DuckTales to understand him. To which I always respond I’ve read a bunch of his comics, including the graphic novel he wrote, and in all of them Scrooge is way too big a jerk to likable and the stories are very depressing. So I certainly know how wewe feel about Adventure Time and annoying fans. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

I don't see what's so wrong with a fan having an animal character as their favorite character. If the character is written well, and has a very..."humanistic" personality, I don't see what's the issue over people liking them over the actual human characters.

I don't see a problem with it. I mean Scrooge McDuck is my inayopendelewa fictional, even though he's a duck. And I upendo him becuase I think he's got a lot of deep complex emotions, and is a much zaidi interesting character than a lot of heroes/heroines. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

I often see people giving crap to others in the fandom just because they like an animal character over a princess, au preferring something the Lion King ujumla, jumla to the human characters. Most people think human characters in general tend to be zaidi "complex" than the animal ones. And I say...it depends. Like I said, I don't think there is anything wrong with it, if the character is written to be zaidi humanistic than intended. And if so, they're perfectly entitled to like them. zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita

I think a sequel to Rise of The Guardians is a great idea. I'm assuming this is unpopular, considering how people tend to hate sequels. I actually think it could be a movie series with more than one sequel. Why? Because it has SO MUCH POTENTIAL! I mean, we could see other characters like Mother Nature, Cupid, Father Time, the spirit of Halloween, Baby New Year, the spirit of April Fools Day, The Leprechaun (as Tooth put it), the Groundhog, and MANY MORE. We can also learn more about Pitch and the other Guardians pasts about who they were before they were chosen and what happened to them to make them who they are. Along with explaining things like how did the others remember who they were before they were chosen but Jack couldn't, who exactly the Man In mMoon is, how he came to be, how the Guardians got their helpers, how they learned to fight (North and Bunny specifically, since they don't really have magic to fight with like Jack and Sandy or super speed to fight with like Tooth), and why Man In Moon decided to take away Pitch's ability to make everyone fear him when apparently it seemed to be that way for a while. These ideas write themselves! I mean, Pitch could be going after Father Time, so he can travel back in time in order to stop the Guardians from ever being born and they look back on who they were before they were chosen through flashbacks. Or Pitch taking away the Man In Moon's power (which I assume also gives the Guardians their powers, along with children believing) by taking away the Moon's light with making the sun be shrouded in darkness. In order to do this, since Sandy has the power of light to defeat him and he can't turn him dark (that would only kill him and he's already tried that), he's have to turn Jack evil by darkening his heart (I'm excited for season 5 of Once Upon A Time, that might explain why that idea is in my head lol). With the combined powers of darkness and ice, it would be too much for the Guardians to undo. They would lose their powers, but Pitch and Jack wouldn't because all that would be in the world is darkness and cold. The last one might not be a good idea but I think the Father Time story would work really well. Rise of The Guardians was practically made for a sequel and maybe even more (without overkilling it), unlike Frozen, How To Train Your Dragon, or Kung Fu Panda.

I, um... I don't like The Swan Princess. It's corny, the humor often falls flat, the music is awful (the villain song makes me cringe, yikes!) and the animation is super ugly imo (minus some of the landscape shots). I know there are people here who love it, and that's cool, but it just seems so shoddy and low-quality to me.

And it's weird because I like Odette as a heroine.

Even when I take my nostalgia glasses off and look at it objectively, I still think it's a fantastic movie. It doesn't rely on logic because it's a fairy-tale and therefore relies off emotion. I upendo the characters, the humor is funny, the songs are fantastic, the uhuishaji is beautiful, the romance is amazing, the villain is great, and is just to engaging in my opinion. Nostalgia works weird for me. Sometimes a film I loved in my childhood i still love to this day (if i rewatch it again and happen to enjoy it), but often times i start thinking objectively about certain aspects of it and it ends up pissing me off more than before (see my mixed feelings towards Anastasia- a film i loved back in the day and nowadays i think it's kinda fun, but i find the main characters to be huge assholes).

I'll get my unpopular Corpse Bride opinions out of the way:

1.I like Victoria from Corpse Bride more than Emily. I like Emily but I just find Victoria to be MUCH more interesting and is a strong female character.

2.I think Victoria is beautiful and Emily is HIDEOUS! I'm not a fan of the Tim Burton claymation style but I think Victoria is beautiful!

3.I HATE the Victor and Emily shipping! It's just SO ONE-SIDED and CREEPY! I mean, Emily is dead, he keeps on trying to get away from her but she keeps forcing herself onto him, and he doesn't love her in that way. He loves Victoria, which is a couple that I LOVE and think have TONS of chemistry. People just hate Victoria because they want Victor with Emily, which I think is mainly due to her tragic situation and being voiced by Helena Bonham Carter.
