It was a couple of months since my namesake uncle passed away. Bradley saw me walking Killer. He said, "I heard your uncle passed away." I said, "Yeah." He asked, "How are wewe doing?" I said, "I'm at the end stages of grief. I miss him, but I'm okay. Thanks for asking." One Friday night, Simon, Charles, and I went to the movies. When we arrived back at Simon's house, Charles and I got out of the car. Simon said, "Actually, my dad parks it closer to the house." He put it in reverse. Charles said, "Be careful, Simon." Simon said, "I know what I'm doing!" I noticed that a trash can was in the...

It wasn't long before sherry and I began a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. One day, I received a call. "Hello," I answered. I heard a voice say "Hello, there, Anthony." I said, "Oh, hi, Aunt Clara. What's up?" She replied, "A lot, actually." I asked, "What do wewe mean?" She said, "Uncle Anthony has been diagnosed with lung cancer." I said, "That's terrible." She said, "He only has a couple of months to live." I became quiet. She said, "You're still there, right?" I said, "Yeah." She said, "You're awfully quiet." I said, "I'm just trying to wrap, upangaji pamoja my mind around this. Uncle Anthony was always...

Anthony's Story Part 3
Before I started middle school, I was nervous. Moving to a new school is not easy. The only familiar face that was going to the same middle school was my friend, Angela. I was nervous still about the different arrangements. I decided to talk to Alan. He said, "Middle school is much better than elementary school." I asked, "Why is that?" He said, "Well, in elementary school, wewe have to stay with the same teacher all day. In middle school, wewe change classes. If wewe don't like one teacher, at least wewe get different teachers for different subjects. wewe don't have to stay...

It was krisimasi break. Exams had been completed, and we were nyumbani free for the holidays. Charles was on his krisimasi break, too. He said, "Anthony, I heard that wewe and Simon were tied for Best All Around." I said, "We were." He said, "Cool!" I said, "Yeah, but I still can't figure out how I got Best All Around. I'm not exactly popular." He said, "Maybe you're zaidi maarufu than wewe think, Anthony." I said, "Dean and his gang nominated me just to be mean. Jon alisema that it would be funny if I actually won." Charles asked, "Funny as in ha ha of funny as in nobody will see it coming?" I said,...

Hey, ChiliPepperLuv fans! It's almost Thanksgiving. So, what are wewe thankful for? There are many things to be thankful for. Personally, I am thankful for my pet dog, music, my mom, my veterinary assistant teacher, and my friends. It's hard when there are a few family members missing, though. This will be my fourth Thanksgiving without my grandfather. He passed away in 2009. This will be my first Thanksgiving without my dog, Bingo. He was euthanized two days after krisimasi last year. It's hard, but we can still make it without them. These two family members were very important to me and still are. I will never forget them.
It was October. Homecoming had come and gone, and it was time to nominate senior superlatives. Our senior sponsor read off the entire senior class. We nominated some people for certain things. Simon and Ron nominated me for Best All Around. Dean said, "You're nominating Anthony for Best All Around. Don't embarrass yourselves." sherry said, "Dean, shut your mouth." I said, "I don't expect to win, guys! It's an honor just to be nominated." Spyke, a member of Dean's gang said, "Clearly, you've never won anything." I said, "I won a spelling bee once. That's something." Spyke yelled, "Nerd!" Simon...

It was September 2006. I was packing my things for the inayofuata day. The inayofuata day, I was going to start my senior mwaka of high school. My mom said, "Look at that! My baby is going to be a senior!" I said, "Mom..." She said, "I know what you're going to say. You're going to say that you're not my baby anymore." I shook my head. She said, "Don't shake your head, Anthony. You'll always be my baby." I couldn't argue with that. That's how mothers are. The inayofuata day, I met Simon in front of the school. He said, "It's weird that Charles isn't here anymore." I said, "I know." Charles had graduated back...

Two months had passed since the incident. School was over. I decided to pay Bradley a visit. At one point, I was staring into space. Bradley asked, "Are wewe all right?" I didn't hear him. I was Lost in thought. He got my attention kwa shouting, "Anthony!" I said, "I'm sorry. I was Lost in thought. What did wewe ask me?" He said, "I asked if wewe we all right." I said, "Yeah." He gave me a serious look and said, "I know you're not." I said, "Okay, I was thinking about how much I want to forget prom night." He said, "I see. Tell me what happened." I said, "Reese dumped me for Dean the siku before...

When I was finally allowed to walk, and I finally got caught up with my school work, the only thing that anyone noticed was the bruises. Ron said, "Wow! What happened to you?" I said, "I was beaten." He said, "Who did this?" I said, "Dean and his gang." He said, "That dog!" I said, "I know." I later ran into Jon. He said, "That's some nice eyes wewe have, there, hipster." I alisema dryly, "Thank wewe very much!" Charles saw the whole thing. He stood beside me and said, "Jon, I know wewe were involved. If wewe do anything to my friend, I swear up and down that I will make wewe regret it for the rest...

One siku in April, my mom took me to get a tuxedo for my junior prom. When I tried on the tux, she said, "You look handsome. How does it feel?" I said, "I feel mature. It makes me feel zaidi grown up, if wewe know what I mean." She said, "Yes, I know what wewe mean." Afterwards, we went out to eat. While we where there, we ran into Dean. I said, "Mom, this is my friend, Dean. Dean, this is my mom." He said, "Nice to meet you." My mom said, "You too." On our way home, she said, "Anthony, I need to talk to wewe about your friend, Dean." I said, "Okay." She said, "There's something about him I don't...

One day, in early January, I woke up to a strange sight. It was snowing. It seldom snows in Los Angeles. In a way, I was happy to see snow again. The last time I saw snow was three years zamani when I lived in Montana. Simon was especially excited. He had never seen snow before. We went out and played in it. Just before it could cover the ground, it stopped. Simon said, "Well, it was fun while it lasted." I said, "Yeah." When it snows in Los Angeles, it doesn't cover the ground. I found it a little disappointing, as I was used to big snows in Montana. That night, I was still thinking about how...

One day, when I was walking to school, I ran into my friend, Dean. He said, "Hey, Anthony!" I said, "What's up, Deano?" I always greeted him this way. He said, "Not much." I then said, "This week has been rainy. It's nice to have sunny weather for a change, isn't it?" He said, "Yeah." He then asked, "So, how are wewe and Reese doing?" I said, "Our relationship is going well. Thank wewe for asking." He asked, "How have wewe been since your near death experience?" I said, "It hasn't changed my attitude toward the ocean." He said, "I guess that means you're doing okay. Are you?" I said, "Yeah. It's...

It was the first siku of school in 2005. Reese and I were walking to our first class of the day, Chemistry. Along the way, we ran into Charles. He said, "Hi, Anthony! How's it going?" I said, "Great!" I had earned bragging rights, but I wasn't about to exercise them. People were still talking about Reese saving my life. My friend, Ron, saw the two of us together and said, "Look! It's Anthony and his heroic girlfriend, Reese." We had been together since June, but that night was going to be a special one. Now that I have had my driver's licence for two months, my parents were going to allow me...

Sometime after my big feud with my father, I went to LA's beach, pwani with Simon. It was the last week of school, and I didn't have any exams. So, Simon decided that I needed a little fun, and to get away from the family drama. Simon always found paddle boarding relaxing, and the Pacific Ocean was the perfect place to do it. I decided to try it as well. We would hit the waves, and let them take us to shore. At one point, I fell off of my board, and I hit my ndama muscle on a piece of coral. "Simon," I cried out to my friend. "I'm hurt." Simon said, "What?! wewe are hurt?" Before I could say anything...

Shortly after I had introduced Utah to rock music, my dad had to be a jerk about it. He said, "You've introduced another person to that darn Devil music." He didn't say darn, though. I tried to explain myself, but he cut in and said, "You were trying to impress her, weren't you?" I said, "Utah and I are just friends, dagnabbit!" I didn't say dagnabbit. I alisema the actual word. He said, "Watch your language, boy!" I said, "Don't tell me to watch my language, hypocrite." I walked out of the house. He asked, "Where are wewe going?" I said, "To hang out with someone who won't yell at me for listening...

One day, I invited Utah, my new friend, to hang out at my house. She looked at my guitars and asked, "What kind of guitar, gitaa is the blue one?" I replied, "That's an electric guitar." She said, "It looks cool. I've never seen one before." I played some notes on it. She said, "It produces a cool sound, too." I said, "True that." After a long pause, she asked, "Why do wewe listen to rock music?" I said, "I listen to it because I like it." She asked, "Is that the only reason?" I said, "No, Utah. I also listen to it because it helped me through rough patches in my life." She asked, "What rough patches?"...
