Why couldn't God have just forgiven everyone without sacrificing a part of himself? I thought God was Powerful.

I relate God to parenting. When your child makes a mistake, wewe don't condemn them forever. wewe forgive them. But the best parent teaches their child the consequences of their mistake. When a student bullies another student, I forgive the child for his transgression, but not before I make sure he understands exactly why what he did was wrong, and the best way to do this (I've seen) is to help him understand - and not just superficially "know" - the pain he has caused. I believe that was one thing God was doing with Christ.

The other reason the death of Christ is necessary is because it was kwa his sacrifice that forgiveness was truly possible. His symbol of true upendo and devotion showed us what we could be, as it was the epitome of the goodness and best of humanity. He gave Himself to save the rest of us.

This is how I've come to see it, anyway. Perhaps as an agnostic, I am not the best qualified, but there's my answer.

So to forgive everyone, God sacrificed his son? That seems cruel and unfair. Also, God did not have to let Jesus be killed so brutally. I thought God was All-Forgiving, so he forgives with no conditions as long as wewe are sincere. Jesus dying was not necessary for God to forgive us, because God forgives without sacrifice. Since God is incomparable to anything, he is not like a parent, he is like a Creator. Killing someone is not a lesson for us. If anything, it shows cruelty and God is not cruel. I don't think God sacrificed Jesus. God is All Merciful.

God seems like a wewe know a strict but loving parent, also Jesus could of alisema no if he wanted too.

God is all powerful, yes. to sacrifice his son, who had never sinned, was a way to break the hold of Satan on us. Jesus knew what was going to happen, he could have done something to save himself, but he chose to die for us. he loved us so much that he couldn't stand to see us sin. God showed that he would rather die than let us suffer in Hell because of our sins.

God had forgiven everyone that's why his only son sacrificed himself for us.
God is almighty never should his power au upendo ever be doubted

If God is Almighty, he didn't need to kill Jesus to forgive us, there is no logic in that. I'm not doubting God, I'm doubting his "sacrifice". I don't think God killed Jesus. God is All Merciful.

logic is stupid and useless when dealing with the Bilbe. is it logical that a sea parted au that someone came back from the dead? forget about logic and listen with your heart.

God could have but that wouldn't stop people from sinning. God loves his creation but its not like people make things easy for God, so God get angry and sad when he tells people what it takes to rejoin in in heaven and not have to suffer the torment of hell.

He flooded the earth because of all the abominations that took place, same with Jesus. He sent his son because man kwa themselves couldn't (or rather very few) couldn't do what they had to do. Most people either were pagan au Jew (plus converted Jews) who did the physical parts of being a "Jew" (religion) and not having the upendo of God in their hearts.

This is going to take a wile, but just hang in there.

He had to because He is holy. He cannot look upon sin. And the sacrificing bit. Here's how it got started.
Old testament, they had an old covenant, where, every year, a kondoo, mwana-kondoo was sacrificed for the sins of the people. When that sacrifice was made, God covered their sins. This happened for many years.

But, then Jesus came. He made a new covenant. On one of those years, HE was the lamb. He was sacrificed for the sins of EVERYONE, past present and future. Why? Because He was perfect. No sin at all. When he hung on that cross, everyone's sin of all time was placed upon him.
Because of Him, we have free access into God's presence. And kwa his blood, ALL our sins are washed away.

i believe, my father told me this once...let me see if i can recall
he wanted us to know how much he loved us, if he had just forgiven us, we would have gone on our merry ways, still being separated from God, Jesus was the bridge that drew us close to God, so we could become close Marafiki with God, wewe see before, we were simply his creation and now we are his children.
God wanted to come down to us in human form so that we could see him and be with him in person, get to know him. So instead of him being just the guy upstairs he's our father, friend, brother, notice God was seldom referred to that way in the old testament
and he wanted to onyesha us how much he loved us kwa giving up something precious for us.
before, we used to have to make sacrifices for our sins, but God wanted to onyesha us that he will sacrifice himself so that we will no longer have to sacrifice, the bible says what greater upendo than this than for a man to lay down his life for his friends? maybe god was trying to onyesha us that he possessed that kind of upendo in his moyo for us
the end.
heh heh, that was back when i used to wewe know, really read and stuff, so hope this is an inspiration to somebody :) lol
