If the show I am watching is interesting, I prefer to stay on the same channel (when I had other channels). I sometimes watch the commercials, sometimes take the opportunity to run and do something (use the bathroom, get a snack, put the dog out, etc.), or just close my eyes for the 2 minutes - listening to the commercials.
