Yes Damon for 145 years wanted Katherine. But i think he wanted and loved Elena more this 4 years. It's pure love and i don't think Damon is gonna screw it up now that he finally get the girl and he have his moment of happiness.

The only way that can EVER happen is if the writers screw up everything they have been developing for Damon. It has become rather obvious throughout the series that Damon truly and deeply loves Elena, and his love for Katherine was obsessive, but not true or deep.

Why would Damon start developing feelings for Kat now?
I hated the way Katherine treated Damon when he was in love with her. If she DOES get feelings for him, then it's probably more to do with the fact that for once, in however many hundred years, she's actually vulnerable and weak and she needs someone to take care of her now she's struggling; and that Damon is happy and in love and she likes a challenge. Lots of people seem to be in favour of a DK friendship. Not me.

Oh hell no. If she gets anywhere near Delena, I'm going to kill somebody. But I would be lying if I said Katherine isn't one of my favourite characters. I love the idea of DK friendship but their romantic relationship is dead. Finito. I would go so far as to say boring and unimaginative. Even if she makes Elena jealous, that's just not a good plot. And a romantic relationship between Damon and Katherine goes against everything the writers have been building to till this point.
