I think it should depend on their age difference. If he is only 1-4 years older than her, than maybe so. But if he is 20-30 years older than her, I think it would be better for him not to. Especially because I can imagine how fucked up the family reunions, the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, and birthday parties would be when the mother is 17 years old yet the father is 50 years old.
