For the first time since entering treatment last fall, Demi Lovato is opening up about the problems that led her to seek treatment in the first place. The Disney starlet, whose rep had previously alisema she was getting help for “emotional and physical issues,” revealed in the May issue of Seventeen that she had been struggling with cutting, an eating disorder and depression for years.

I’ve been thinking lately that I am lucky to have a great support group around me. As I go through struggles, I rely on my Marafiki and family to help me stay strong. I believe that surrounding myself with positive people who care about me is the key to staying healthy and happy. I am so blessed to have a wonderful family and amazing Marafiki that help me through the difficult times and laugh with me in the good times. Demi Lovato has publicly thanked her good Marafiki Selena Gomez and Kim Kardashian for their unwavering support during hard times in the last year.

The 19-year-old battled a number of personal problems, including an eating disorder, depression and self-harming, but she has since bounced back and recently declared she is happier and healthier than ever. But Lovato insists she wouldn't have made such a quick recovery if it hadn't been for her two closest pals.

Exciting news for Selena Gomez and The Scene fans!

The 18-year-old actress/singer just ilitumwa the name of their third album on her Facebook.

Dropping on June 28th, mashabiki will get to pick up Otherside, which features hit single “Who Says.”

“3rd album Otherside out June 28th, can’t wait for wewe to hear it,” Selena posted.

Leading up to the reveal of their junior album, Selena will be hosting the 2011 MMVA Awards in Toronto!

Demi Lovato is taking a chance.

The teen nyota – who entered treatment for "physical and emotional issues" last October – will not be returning to her hit Disney Channel series, Sonny with a Chance.

"It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the onyesha to focus on my music," Lovato, 18, tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "It's kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn't be a better time for me to songesha on."
