It’s so obvious, it’s nearly ridiculous to write an makala about it, but Aurora is the Princess of the mwezi and it wouldn’t be right to exclude her, even if this will be a very brief article. I won’t even bother to make a pick this time around.

The maua, ua which naturally symbolized Aurora the best is the rose. There are other flowers in the movie, most notable when the vichimbakazi jinx the arrows to protect Phillip, but the rose is connected to Aurora in so many ways: Her name during her stay with the vichimbakazi is Briar Rose (based on the German version of the Fairy Tale, which is called “Dornröschen” (little thorny rose)), her lips “shame the red, red rose”, she even holds a red rose in her hand while she is asleep.
It’s a symbolism which works really well, since the rose in the movie is not a natural rose, but a cultivated one (in fact this rose didn’t even exist back then, but who cares, it’s a Fairy Tale). And Aurora herself isn’t a natural beauty either; she is so beautiful because the vichimbakazi spelled her this way. It’s somewhat funny that Flora considers turning her into a flower, thought she doesn’t specify which kind of flower.
The rose used in the movie is a red rose, which is very fitting, because it stands for “true love”. I’m slightly annoyed that nowadays Belle is zaidi often connected with the red rose, while Aurora is left with the pink ones. But at least, the pink ones work, too. Light pink stands for desire, passion, joy of life, youth, energy, pink itself (I’m not sure if that is pink au light pink) stands for grace, which fits Aurora perfectly. Nevertheless, I’m slightly peeved that they aliiba her maua, ua from her.

And, as always, the karatasi la kupamba ukuta (only one this time around).

Following the phenomenal The Princess and the Frog (which also set the return of glourious hand-drawn uhuishaji into the studio), Tangled became Disney's 50th Animated film and I'm happy to ripoti that is a sensational film that proudly fits that milestone.

Megara

Caricature / Gerald Scarfe

Now granted, Megara is not an official Disney Princess but I figure she is a prime example of caricature in a Disney film and where that overpowering style took little regard for the time period in which the story takes place. If animators attempted to use the art of caricature in Aladdin the film Hercules took it to the fullest extent.

With the pending release of two “Snow White” revamps, boasting Kristin Stewart and Lily Collins in the leading roles – I began to wonder: look-wise, who could fill the shoes of the other 9 princesses? And after exhausting Google image, I’ve found my answer. These celebrity-princess doppelgangers share zaidi than merely eye and hair colour; in fact, many are practically identical. Give their faces and features zaidi than a quick glance and I promise you’ll agree.

9.Sleeping Beauty: True upendo conquers all.
Coming in last place is Sleeping Beauty's moral, "True upendo Conquers All". While many of us agree this would be a wonderful moral, it doesn't apply to real life. In real life, true upendo rarely conquers anything. Certainly in real life it wouldn't conquer something to the equivalent of Maleficent. While it's a wonderful moral that everyone wishes were true, sadly it isn't, which is understandably why it gained last place in our countdown.

"True upendo can't didn't conquere Hitler, 9/11, au the Vietnam War. Actually, the zaidi I think about it, doesn't...
