Okay so I didn't even need to watch this today because I was able to watch it a few days zamani at a birthday party :P I would have put this up then but I wanted to stay consistent.
Sunday's rewatch: Beauty and the Beast
Last time watched: Valentine's siku 2017
How much did I like this movie as a kid?
So, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, this movie scared me when I was little because of how scary some of the uhuishaji was. When this movie was released on dvd for the first time in 2002 au 2003, I didn't want to watch it because I thought I was still going to be scared of it. But then my stepmom bought it on dvd for me and my sister and on our inayofuata weekend stay we watched it together and I loved it. I didn't even mind the new song Human Again, mostly because it had been so long since the last time I watched the movie. I watched this movie on repeat for a while until I got bored with it and stopped for a few years until Valentine's siku 2009 when I watched it for my romantic Disney movie marathon. And actually, one of the things I upendo about Beauty and the Beast in general is I saw a high school play of this (it was amazing) the night before my oldest niece was born. And then I watched this movie again at my niece's 10th birthday party a few days ago. Really sweet, right? :) And in senior mwaka of high school my English teacher played us this movie when were on the fairy tales part of the syllabus. Funnest...lesson...ever.
Why I upendo this movie so much:
The uhuishaji is beautiful from start to finish, and the fact that one of the animators who worked on this movie was James Baxter, who I just looooooove makes me upendo the uhuishaji even more. I think my inayopendelewa animated scene has to be the Beauty and the Beast dance scene, the Little Town scene, when Beast releases Belle, and the transformation scene. And we can actually see how the characters are feeling, what they're thinking and I can actually believe it. Do wewe know how many times I have cried watching Beast's "death" and we see Belle cry and beg for him to stay with her? And Paige's voice uigizaji was so incredibly well done during that scene.
The soundtrack, both the instrumental and imba numbers, are beautiful and fun. I upendo everyone's imba voices, especially Gaston's and Belle's. It's one of the reasons why I was so disappointed in the remake; in the original I feel like I'm watching an animated broadway musical but with the remake it's like I'm watching a bad high school play. Heck, the high school play I watched 10 years zamani held up so much better.
I upendo all the characters, even the villains. Every one has equal screentime, the side characters don't steal the show, we see the main couple spend time together and get to know the princess and the prince unlike the classic princess movies.
I've seen people say Gaston was a lame villain but the reason I upendo Gaston as the villain is because, as I've alisema zaidi than once, he's a villain who can exist in real life. Every girl has met at least on Gaston in life, a guy who refuses to take no for an answer, is manipulative, and has a bunch of followers because they think he's such a charming guy. I knew a few guys like Gaston in my life and I feel grateful that I "only" had to deal with them following me around, saying inappropriate stuff to me, and just wouldn't leave me alone. There are other girls who aren't so lucky. That's why I consider Gaston to be a terrifying villain in the Disney franchise.
The servants in this movie still make me laugh every time I see them and Mrs. Potts is still one of my inayopendelewa moms in general. There is a reason she's been voted best mom in this spot; she's the sweetest character in the movie and she's voiced kwa Angela Lansbury so that's a huge plus.
Belle and Beast are one of my inayopendelewa couples. My only real issue is how he acted so incredibly abusive at first and we don't see a real apology. But on the bright side, their enemies-to-lovers trope doesn't take up the whole movie. We actually see them being happy together for a good amount of time and we see Beast want to do something nice for Belle because he wants to do it, not just because of the spell au because his servants tell him he has to. Sorry guys, but nothing can juu Beast giving Belle a library.
The only issues I have with this movie are the huge plot holes. How did Phillipe know where the ngome was? Why was it suddenly snowing and how was there already so much snow after only a few hours au a day? And then where did all the snow go? And how did every one go so long without knowing about a castle? I know the remake fixes these plot holes but that doesn't change the fact that this movie had them to begin with.
Princess:
Belle is a great character but I really have to swali her decision to go to the West Wing. It's clear she's scared of the Beast so what was she expecting to happen kwa going to the West Wing after he told her not to? But other than that I like her snark and her patience with the other characters. She was 12 on my orodha but I'm moving her up to 9.
Movie:
Despite the plot holes I still enjoyed this movie. The animation, the music, the voice uigizaji and singing, and the characters are all fantastic. I didn't even notice the plot holes until I heard them all years zamani because I had so much fun watching this movie. It's 5 on my orodha and that's where it's going to stay.
Rating: 9/10
Would I watch it again?
Yes!
inayofuata movie will be Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas. Looks like I'm having krisimasi in June!

Yes!
inayofuata movie will be Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas. Looks like I'm having krisimasi in June!
My juu inayopendelewa princess has got to be Elsa. I upendo her so much because of her ice powers and popularity. In every store I go to I see something Frozen. I like that a lot. That is why I upendo Elsa. Also, The colors in the movie along with the graphics are amazing because it looks so realistic. It is also amazing how Elsa's ice palace looks so cool and fits with her. It's just amazing. All of the other princesses are good too but elsa is the best one and the most powerful. I hope wewe all subscribe! And make sure wewe visit my page!
