9.PL: Sleeping Beauty/PPG: Sleeping Beauty
PL:
bor·ing (bôrng, br-)
adj.
Uninteresting and tiresome; dull.
boring·ly adv.
boring·ness n.
Synonyms: boring, monotonous, tedious, irksome, tiresome, humdrum
These adjectives refer to what is so uninteresting as to cause mental weariness. Boring implies feelings of listlessness and discontent: I had never read such a boring book.
Tedious suggests dull slowness au long-windedness.
The only Sleeping Beauty during this film is me.
PPG:
It first starts off at a good pace at the beginning, but then after we meet Aurora, it starts to drag. There are several pointless scenes such as the cake scene that do not add any importance and can easily be skipped. The main characters themselves, Aurora and Phillip, don't do much. They just dance around and sing, then one gets captured and the other goes to sleep for the rest of the movie. Phillip himself is not so bad, but Aurora is a boring, watered down, flawless version of Snow White who is nowhere near as pretty. The real Heroes of this movie are the fairies, and they are one of the two reasons this movie is slightly interesting. (THEY protect Aurora, and THEY put the people to sleep, and with their magic, THEY killed the dragon!) The only good point of this movie is Maleficent. She is SO awesome; easily the best DP villain. She is one cruel bitch, wanting to capture Phillip and then releasing him when he is an old man. However, she is not enough to save this movie.
8.PL: Princess and the Frog/PPG: Princess and the Frog
PL:
This movie is so shoddily put together it's disgusting. The plot is bland so the filler is pointless. There's so many inconsitencies. It shamefully panders to hurricane Katrina victims. It's trying so hard to please everyone that it loses its touch. kwa not taking risks I don't feel that same Disney Magic I do in the other films. The romance comes out of nowhere. The sidekicks aren't anything special, in fact, they're half-assed. Mama Odie, who's supposedly the film's "Fairy godmother" has nothing motherly about it. Dr.Facilier is a lame coward with a stupid ambition. Lawrence is a complete waste of uhuishaji and only exists to serve as a white counterpart to the black villain. The only character with any freshness to them is Charlotte, who should've been the main character. Tiana fits the mold of princess, but I feel lacks that dreamy personality the other princesses have. The muziki is okay, the score is boring, the whole film left me not caring. Maybe if I had grown up with it I would like it more, but...I don't. To me it was a colossal disappointment.
PPG:
Honestly, PatF is this low because I have not grown up with the movie. It is a cute little movie, don't get me wrong, but I do not get the same feeling of magic with this movie like I do with the others. Story-wise, I have issues with its inconsistencies, such as why didn't charlotte turn into a frog when she kissed Naveen. The muziki was pretty good, but no songs stick with me. Character-wise, the only two characters I like are Naveen and Charlotte. (I wish charlotte was the lead!) Overall, it is okay, but it is nowhere close to my favorite.
7.PL: Cinderella/PPG: Pocahontas
PL: I actually think this is a really lovely film, but my ADHD mind just can't upendo it as much as the others. It's pleasent and cute but not much action goes on. I tried to watch it the other siku but ten dakika in I stopped watching it because I was bored. Don't get me wrong, this film isn't a snoozefest like Sleeping Beauty. I just happen to prefer the films where zaidi goes on. As far as a film goes, I think it's nearly perfect. When I watch it, I usually fast mbele to her getting her dress and watching from there, because not much goes on beforehand. Jaq, Gus, and Lucifer's antics get REALLY old for me, if wewe seen them once, you've seen them a thousand times. If the film focused zaidi on cinderella instead of having a lot of Jaq & Gus fillers, I would like it more. Their scenes are just a little dragged out for me.
PPG:My main problem with this movie is how badly it is written. The art is beautiful, and the muziki is gorgeous. Whoever wrote the script of this movie should be ashamed, because they did a very shitty job in the sekunde half. Pocahontas and John Smith are AMAZING in the first half, but then they suddenly become sucked of their personality and become so...flat. I especially hate Pocahontas' speaking voice actress. Just...gah! Mel Gibson did a great job as John, though. If the writers did a much better job, this movie would be higher, but alas.
6.PL: Pocahontas/PPG: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
PL: Oh, god. I really can't slander this film. Something about it just hits a soft spot for me. I really don't know why. The characters aren't special, the story is inaccurate, it's not as exciting as the other princess films. I upendo the score in this film, it draws wewe in and holds wewe with a tight fist until the end. The songs are absolutely brilliant. The characters are...well, hot, for the most part. But I actually find them sort of enjoyable, even if they don't exactly have a lot of pizazz. But the sekunde half of the film gets a little dull as do the characters. Radcliffe is a sucky villain who sort of comes off as a buffoon rather than evil. It's lacking a little...okay, a lot..in the humor department. The worst part are the sidekicks. Besides Wiggins, the sidekicks are about as annoying as they come. Meeko and Percy are both incredibly useless sidekicks who don't help out Pocahontas au Radcliffe in anyway. I guess they're supposed to serve as "comic relief" but I don't find them funny. Flit is just as useless, but zaidi tolerable. The only funny one is Wiggins, who's clearly boning Radcliffe in his spare time. Anyway, the film doesn't hold up to other Disney films but I can't help but upendo it for all of its iconic moments.
PPG:
I always loved this movie too when I was very little. It was probably the sekunde Disney movie I have ever watched, after Fantasia. I would even dress up in a Snow White costume and run in the bushes, playing out that running in the woods scene. lol Anyway, although my upendo for this movie has died throughout the years, the reason why I still like it a lot is because of the art. I mean, damn! It is so BEAUTIFULLY drawn for 1937! The songs are fun to sing to as well. One scene that gives me chills to this siku is when the Queen transforms. Holy freaking crap. Whenever it happens, I would always shout in a baby voice, "Look! kwa hands!" (couldn't say my when I was 2. lol) Anyway, yes, this movie has a close place to my heart, but I upendo the others more.
5.PL: Beauty and the Beast/PPG: Cinderella
PL:
This is consistently probably the most purposeful of the Princess Films. What I mean kwa that is I don't think a single scene is filler. And I really appreciate that. That being said, I liked this film a lot zaidi when I first viewed it in a long time than I do now. It's pleasent and very enjoyable to watch, but it doesn't touch me in a way the other princess films do. And I don't mean touch me in my pants. I mean in my heart. The sidekicks are great, the songs are great, the score is fantastic...I find everything to be technically good but not so meaningful to me. It's not as adventurous au fun as the ones I've placed above it. BATB is a wonderful film, it just doesn't appeal as much to my personal taste.
PPG: Cinderella, I do like. When I was little, it was my most inayopendelewa Disney Princess movie. I always dressed up in Cinderella's ballgown before watching it. I always admired cinderella for being optimistic, and I loved seeing magic during Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo (sp?). However, my upendo for this movie has died down throughout the years, and I like sinema with deeper characters and storylines. This movie will always have a close place in my heart.
4.PL: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs/PPG: Aladdin
PL: Um...heh heh heh. Okay, so Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs does have a lot of filler, something I complained about earlier. BUT I upendo IT, GOD DAMMIT! I upendo that it's got a darker edge but it still makes me want to party. Snow White herself is so freaking captivating that I upendo every scene with her. The Dwarfs are hilarious and always make me laugh. I upendo the dancing scene, the bathing scene, every last chromatic note! I upendo the romance, I just find this film so funny and different from the other films. It has so much joy and it's so lighthearted. It's just incredibly charming.
PPG: This is an awesome movie. It has an awesome story, awesome characters (except Jasmine, who I dislike. Sorry, jimmy, hunitumia fans!), and awesome music. It is VERY hard to get One Jump, A Friend like Me, and Prince Ali out of my head. Aladin himself is an awesome character. He can be shallow and a bit of a douche, and he makes some mistakes. However, he learns and grows from his mistakes in the end, which is why I upendo him. Genie is also the shit. I upendo him because he is so hilarious. Carpet is also awesome and makes me ROFLwaffle as he teases Abu in the Cave of Wonders. Jafar is an awesome DP villain (probably #2 on my orodha for inayopendelewa villain), and his beard reminds me of Him, which makes him even zaidi epically awesome. XD Overall, I upendo this movie a lot, but I upendo the above 3 more.
3.PL: Mulan/PPG: Mulan
PL:
The reason why this used to be my number one is because I was in a bad mood while watching the inayofuata two, and because I watched SO objectively that I started ordering the sinema on how much they entertain me the most, rather than how much I upendo them. Mulan gets me the most riled up, but what do wewe want, it's a war film. This is the only film where I upendo EVERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER. Even Chi-Fu, he makes me laugh. Most of my funny/favorite nukuu are from this film. My inayopendelewa prince is from this film. Anyhow, my juu 3 princess films all have something in common: they're about someone from the bottom rising to the top. The scene where she returns to her father is probably one of my all-time inayopendelewa scenes. It symbols a relationship I wish I had with my dad. The scene with the burnt down village always tugs at me. When she cuts off her hair I do a mental fist pump. This film is like a motivational poster that takes 80 dakika to read. But I just like the ones above it more.
PL:This movie I love. <3 I started loving it zaidi when I got older along with the Little Mermaid and BatB. It's one of those sinema where wewe can watch it over and over again and learn something different from it each time. A lot of the songs in it are awesome, and the script is very well written. The art for this movie is gorgeous with its backgrounds and color palette. The thing that I upendo most about it is its characters, especially Mulan and Shang. Mulan is a very well-rounded and believable character, starting from a clumsy, shy girl to a strong and confident heroine. It is wonderful to see her go through this transformation in the film. Shang is an awesome hero who has a moyo of dhahabu under the vazi, pazia of being a general. Scenes with them together such as being in the burnt down village really songesha me. Overall, I upendo this movie so much... but two sinema still beat it on my list.
2.PL: Aladdin/PPG: The Little Mermaid
PL: This film. is just. great. Every single inch of it I love. The romance needs a little work, Jafar is zaidi whiny than evil, but I seriously upendo all the characters. It has this great kick to its mood that makes me laugh even on mute. I'd say it's probably the most charismatic of the princess films, if films can be charismatic. I absolutely upendo it. It's funny. Genie and Iago make me piss myself. Even after watching it 500 times I still find it hilarious. I always quote the film as I'm watching it. It's got this "go-go-go" pace that I love, which is a common characteristic in my juu two films. I upendo the ending, I upendo it everytime I watch it, I just find it very fun. The only reason it's not higher is because it doesn't have a deeper message like my number 1, and without the humor the story would just be conventional.
PPG: This movie is so amazing. It definitely deserves the praises that it gets. I upendo it a lot. It has great characters, a great story, and great music. Ariel is a very realistic and well written character who has flaws, but this makes her very likeable. Eric is one of the most wonderful and kindest princes ever; he is the dream guy wewe would ever want with his shyness and humbleness. Triton is also an awesome character, and with TLM 3 out, now we can understand why he is so afraid of loosing Ariel. Sebastian and kweta are both a treat to watch on the screen as well, and Ursula is a very entertaining villain to watch. I only have very small problems with this movie, such as how can Ariel and Eric fall in upendo in three days. Still, it is one of the best Disney sinema ever, and it is not very hard to see why. However, one other movie has captured my moyo completely, even zaidi so than the Little Mermaid...<3
1.PL: The Little Mermaid/PPG: Beauty and the Beast
PL
per·fect (pûrfkt)
adj.
1. Lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature au kind.
I really don't have much to write because everything about this film is wonderful. I get zaidi involved in this film than any other princess film. It fully absorbs me to a point where I forget I'm watching a movie. I go through all the ups and downs of emotions. I upendo the pace, I upendo the plot, I upendo the characters, I upendo the songs, I upendo the score, I upendo the romance. I upendo EVERYTHING about this film. It's fun, timeless, exciting, and entertaining for all ages. I find it hands down the most exciting of the princess films. It's essentially a party rolled into video. It makes me want to dance and sing. It's one of those films I literally want to be in, be there for all the magic. It just has this certain life about it the other princess films don't have. And that's why I love The Little Mermaid.
PPG:
I upendo Beauty and the Beast zaidi than any of the other Disney Princess movies, hands down, and it is my most inayopendelewa Disney movie out of all time. <3 The muziki composed kwa Alan Menken is amazing in this movie, and each score moves the story along wonderfully (especially the score where Belle goes into the West Wing. It is SO dramatic and powerful! <3). The art of this movie is beautiful, one of my inayopendelewa shots being Belle looking out into the meadow. It is simply breathtaking. I am a sucker for romance, and the story of two different people, a broken man and an ordinary girl, overcoming their differences and GRADUALLY falling in upendo is so beautiful to me. The characters are also amazing, with Lumiere with his flirtatiousness, Cogsworth with his nervousness, Belle with her genuine heart, and especially the Beast with his amazing amount of character development throughout the movie. I doubt that Disney will ever reach the height of amazingness that they did with this movie ever again, and this movie will always stay close to me in my moyo for many years to come.
