I like it how it is, but if I HAD to choose it would be Merida.

She doesn't fit in. She shouldn't be in the line up to being with.

I just hate Merida.

Not only does she not fit in, but her movie puts in a whole new concept into the lineup. It's not much of a good quality movie, and it's easily forgettable. That's takes away the point of being a princess.

I still don't want a Pixar character in a lineup of otherwise WDAS characters. I guess I'm studio-ist. Also, Mongoose09 always used to say that Merida's character design was intended as a "two fingers up" to all of the previous princesses- and so it kind of seems strange they would include her in the line of self-same princesses.

her or merida, mulan never becomes a real princess and merida just doesnt act like one!

Plus, look at the Line-up movies:
Snow White: The one who started it all
Cinderella: The one which rescued the Disney Studios
Sleeping Beauty: The one which concluded the silver era, displays the most unique animation ever and the template for the future Disney villains
The Little Mermaid: The Movie which started the Disney Renaissance
Beauty and the Beast: The first animated movie nominated for a best movie Oscar
Aladdin: When it came out, the highest grossing animated movie ever (and still the third highest for traditional animation).
Pocahontas and Mulan....okay, those two are a little bit the off ones out.....but at least they are part of the Disney Renaissance, too, and I personally thing that Mulan deserves all the credit for featuring the first princess with true character development.
PatF: The first movie the animation studios made after reopening
Tangled: The movie which proved that the animation studio CAN do good CGI movies.

Brave: The movie with which Pixar wanted to proof that they can make a better DP movie than the animation studios? The second "not so good" movie Pixar made after a very long streak of outstanding ones? The movie which will always be remembered for getting an undeserved Oscar? The movie which keeps screwing up my article because I never know how to compare it, because it's so different?

If I had to pick someone, it would probably be Merida.
I don't have a problema with Merida, but I like the others way more, as well their movies and they fit in better.
And I was really mad about all the fuss Merida's redesign caused...

Yeah, everyone else covered it brilliantly. I still do not like the fact that a Pixar princess joined the franchise which is full of WDAS characters. I do not care what anyone says, but she was a middle finger to ALL of her predecessors. Her movie is known for being undeserving of an Oscar, and for being the second-weakest Pixar film. At least the awards Pocahontas got was deserved for. She is supposed to be the best princess, but she is debatably the worst. She does not fit in, so does her film, and contradicts the entire message of the Disney Princess.

I'd SO kick her out if I had the chance! The Barbie version is much better!

I agree with everyone who believes Merida should be kicked out the line-up. Her movie definitely does against the message of being a princess. Not only was she against getting married but also against doing everything that is required for a princess. I understand that this movie was based on Brenda Chapman's situation with her daughter but I feel that the other director used this movie as the finger to the previous disney princesses. Merida brought nothing new to the table-nothing about her makes her stand out from the other girls (except the archery thing which became less important throughout the film).

^That's a legit enough reason. PIXAR films are supposed to be good. Brave wasn't. And because it wasn't very good, it made people question why Merida was even added to the lineup.

Starfox is allowed to say that she doesn't like Merida, and that's not a ridiculous reason. You have loudly stated that you don't like Ariel over and over, and basically wanted Ariel out of the lineup, replacing her with Elsa.

^Don't go after the people who dislike Merida. Just because Merida is PIXAR does mean she is "a tad different" from every other princess in the lineup. Merida is the princess that is the non-princessy version. Even if it makes "no sense" to you--- hatred of Merida-- is their opinion. It's not anymore ridiculous than your hatred of Ariel.

And no, I did NOT say Merida or Ariel should be kicked from the lineup. Neither one. As for Elsa, yes, there was an instance where you agreed with someone else who said that Elsa should replace Cinderella as the "new leader" of the princesses. I was referring to that.

Quit attacking the people who dislike Merida, though. When you go after them, it doesn't make them like her as a character. There will always be that group, just as you have joined the Ariel haters.

^For me personally I count all characters owned by Disney (rather their Disney, Pixar, Touchstone, Lucasfilm or Marvel) as Disney characters, but I can see why other people wouldn't. Because of how I view Disney characters, I don't really see a problem with a Pixar character being the DP line-up, but I can also see the argument against it. I think it's one of those things that just depends on your personal preference.

@Disnerdtobe: Seems like Disney needs a princess movie that not really overrated and underrated as well (maybe, Disney is somewhat confusing). Frozen is overrated enough that's why Anna isn't added to the lineup, although she is actually qualified enough to be a DP. I can see your point about why Disney is greedy, yet as Pixar sell more than Disney in general, same thing with Marvel and Star Wars that's why Disney decided to buy them. And I also think there's no problem for Disney to add Pixar princess to the lineup as long as the princess is a teenager and she isn't from modern world.
