I don't get it. What the hell makes Demi's version of Let it Go so different from Christina Aguilera's Reflection, Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson's Beauty and the Beast, Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle's A Whole New World, and Vanessa Williams' Colors of the Wind?

Not to mention Lana del ray's Once upon a dream, Ashley tisdale's kiss the girl, EVERY COVER EVER MADE BY WORN OUT POP STARS....

I hear people complain about Christina Aguilera's version a lot still. Not too many people complain about Demi's version, imo.

How about "I didn't know people were complaining about Demi's version"?

What I mean is, why do some people don't complain about other artists' version of the songs in end credits (Beauty and the Beast by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson, Colors of the Wind by Vanessa Williams), yet complain about Demi's version of the song in Frozen

People do complain about Christina's from what I've seen :o. I don't like either, but I don't like Demi's Let it Go even more. And I think the difference between the ones you mentioned hatelarxene are different because they're rather soulful while Demi's isn't and is bubblegum pop.

People complain that Demi pushes her voice out when Christina does the same thing, heck Idina Menzel does the same thing and sings through her noise to boost.

She does, I learned a trick to tell when singers are singing through their nose. I sing a song exactly the way they do and plug up my nose and I find out their singing through their nose. I did it with Ariel too and she doesn't at all! I'm not just saying that because I love Jodi because I've noticed Miley doing that with some songs too, though usually she doesn't. Idina still has an AMAZING voice! But I feel like people just defend her and insult Demi because she was in Wicked. If Anna was voiced by the woman who did Glinda she'd get more love, especially when compared to Idina, though I prefer Idina's voice. Demi's just as much of a power house as Idina. She's been compared to Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aquilera by several artists and critics. People say she sings with no emotion but she puts her heart and soul into her songs by speaking of personal experience. Plus someone said she sounded like a dying cow, if she sounds like a dying cow than Idina sounds like a dying duck, which she doesn't.

I never though about it.

I don't really have a problem with Demi or her version of Let It Go. I'm just sick of Demi fans that say that Idina's version is horrible and that Demi's vocals are better than Idina's. And Xtina's version is amazing.

KataraLover, you don't seem to really get why people don't like Demi's version. Let me put it this way.

I have taken singing classes for years, and every single time I or anyone else in my group would sing anything close to the way all these modern singers sing, they would always get told that this is not the proper was to sing and that's pushing it. That's exactly what Demi does. You can deny it all you want and compare her to Christina by saying she pushed her voice as well, when it's undeniable that the two have 2 completely different singing styles. Demi does this wierd throat thing that Selena and so many other singers do with their voice that get's people to not like her cover. It's not that Idina is a broadway star. People don't just blindly pick her version because she is a broadway star. When they do, I don't support it. But I honestly think Idina is one of the best singers to walk this planet. For one thing, she reaches a whole new depth in her voice, never loses the listeners and tries to bring them back by screeming like Demi, and her voice is just one the world doesn't hear very often. I have heard too many people sing like Demi. That's what makes her voice not so special, same with her cover. It just sounds too overly popish and not unique at all. It loses the feel of the song, and her voice doesn't seem to tell a story or anything. I was surprised, with skyscraper, she told us a story with depth. This one, I just didn't feel it. If it weren't for the fact that we knew her story, you wouldn't be saying you feel the emotion. She didn't connect to the song. The song is supposed to have a light but powerful feel and it goes up smoothly. She keeps jumping with the song and just constantly going wild with her endings. Like when she said the cold never bothered me anyway, she practically was yelling. And don't tell me Christina does the same thing, because she is not even close to as bad as Demi with her wild parts. Demi just practically yells for the louder notes to give the some "emotion" while Chrsitina uses her wild voice as an advantage to the song. Demi is just not the voice for loud singing. It's why she worked with skyscraper. The song wasn't all loud and annoying like this cover was. Another thing is, who cares who critics compared her to! That does not have to do with anything. Idina does have more power then Demi in her voice. Demi's voice is one that I've heard before and the same one that goes crazy by the end of most of her songs, Just except the fact that she sounds fake, overdramatic, and changed the whole meaning of the song basically. It's not all about the lyrics. The tune and vocal range plays a huge part in this. Idina gave it this whole story with her singing, the background music, it just gave the song a new level of power. Demi's singing just totally ruins the idea of the song. At first she sounds depressed and then she sounds like she's throwing a party, after that she goes back to being depressed, In general, her version is not deep at all, doesn't say anything to anyone, and her voice is terrible in this song. She pushes her voice way too much. The reason why nobody complained about Christina is because many people found her version better then the original and most of the others loved her version because she had what her version of the song needed, The emotion, the smooth voice, the right volume, everything. Demi on the otherhand didn't. She had a bad version of the song and a bad voice to fit the version.

And also, your "trick" to finding out how celebrities sing through their nose is not a real trick. Doing that will not help you determine if they sing through their nose. Besides, sometimes they use singing through their nose to their advantage. Liek Jodi, she sings through her nose, but it fits perfectly. Idina does not sing through her nose. Or at least, it doesn't sound like it. It sounds good! Demi does not sing through her nose though, but it still sounds terrible. Singing through your nose does not always mean your voice it's bad. Most of the time it does. Almost all celebrities sing through their nose when they might be a bit out of breath, but that is not very often for the real good ones.

I think Demi should just stick with stuff like Heart Attack.

Don't tell me you're actually comparing Demi to Selena, they're not even in the same league. That's the problem with professionally trained people, they get stuck up. Christina screams a lot and it sounds like she's straining so much that her voice sounds like it's cracking a lot, not to mention singing wild. Listen to her when she sings Reflection live. Of course Demi's not going to connect to it, when she connects to a song it's ones she's wrote about her stories, besides Let It Go was designed specifically for Idina. If they had hired Demi instead they would've worked it to where it would've been more flattering for Demi. If you don't believe me that Christina is as bad as Demi try this.

Ignoring the fact that she got the words to the National Anthem wrong she screamed it! Christina has had to get surgery on her vocal cords because of the fact that she get groats on her vocal throats from always screaming, Demi hasn't. Idina doesn't have more power she just screams, I've seen her sing on other things and it's screaming. When I try to sing like Demi I'm more comfortable with it and when I try to sing like Idina my voice always hurts, just like if I was trying to do Christina. Sounds depressed and then sounds like she's throwing a party? Are you kidding me? That's part of the freaking song! She feels bad then decides she doesn't care and is happy about it all! I mean Elsa builds a freaking snowman, a staircase, and a castle! Demi is far from a bad voice, if you wanna talk about Disney Channel stars that can't sing and ruin music all the time you should talk Selena Gomez, Ross Lynch, Laura Marano, The Jonas Brothers, Zendaya, and so on! Demi is far from an "ordinary voice", if her voice is ordinary than Nicki Minaj is the next Beyonce! You're lessons are making you too picky and make you not see it in other singers that you're praising like Idina and Christina, GET OVER IT! Perhaps with these singing lessons you should get some hearing-aids if you think Demi is horrible.

I didn't say I think Christina is a good singer. She is fantastic in reflection, but that's it. She does go wild in reflection, I do agree, but Demi just starts yelling. Of course, Christina yells too, but not in reflection. Well she does, but it works with the song and in my opinion sounds fine. I hate Christina with a passion, don't get me wrong, but I also really can't stand Demi. Especially in this song. The way she sang did not fit the song at all. Something just totally went wrong when she did this one.

And no, I actually am not stuck up with my voice. Your not the first one that told me that and let me tell ya, it get's really annoying. Just because I am stating the obvious flaws to me and it doesn't seem so obvious to you since apparently my lessons caused me to get picky, that does not mean I am stuck up. Of course Demi is not going to connect to it is not an excuse, they should have gotten someone that would. Otherwise, Demi has great potential to making the song nice. She had amazing potential to do many of her songs right but of course she wastes it. Of course Demi is not going to connect? Well so what! And for what you said about the party thing, the happy part was just so random. Elsa made a smooth transition and in the begining of the song was reviewing all the past thoughts she was having. I know Demi had a lot of the same lyrics, but lyrics don't matter. Something just sounded like it went totally wrong. It was just so random and odd, Her facial expressions, her actions, her singing, everything didn't really come together in my opinion. That's what I meant. When Elsa makes all that stuff, her emotions stay cool and don't suddenly just go off.

Your definition of screaming in a song isn't really screaming. I mean seriously, whenever you try to sing like Idina your voice hurts but for Demi it's fine? What's your point? Just because Idina can reach a certain range that you can't, does that make it screaming? No! Their is a difference between raising your voice with power then screaming. Of course, you don't seem to get it with your idiology that if I can't do it it's screaming.

If their is anyone that thinks all those Disney stars you names can't sing it's me. Why would I bring them up in this conversation though? I know you were giving examples, but Selena does have a similar singing style that Demi has. Demi is far better, but her songs are so similar and just ordinary. And that's what makes me love Idina so much. She has a voice and style that is not like many I have heard. Demi keeps ruining her singing with that annoying throat thing and this does not sound very professional at all but anyway her voice is ordinary. It's not that unique at all. I agree with Aliyah. Although I haven't seen that many people complain about Demi's cover.

Did she make it recently? Mulan came out YEARS ago. A lot of the "new movie" hype long died down. Frozen just came out recently. Everyone's still a buzz over it.

I agree with shanyuisboss. Demi's vocal is overrated. Maybe powerful to some extent, but nothing amazing. I've also heard many people who can sing as good as Demi, or even better. Christina, on the other hand, is an exceptional singer though I'm not a fan of her personality. I can see why people complain about Demi's version of 'Let It Go'.
