PrueFever picked Aladin (1992):
The first Disney Princess movie to be voted out was The Little Mermaid! But it was a close call with Beauty and the Beast. Will Beauty be the second one to be voted out as the Favorite DP Movie?

MaidofOrleans picked Beauty and the Beast (1991):
It's such a beautiful story about two social outcasts finding each other and supporting each other when no one else can see past their exteriors. People can only see the Beast as a monster, and can only see Belle as a beautiful but strange girl who will never fit in. Since Belle and the Beast understand one another, this allows them to see past the surface and find a caring man who is willing and eager to learn, and a passionate, ambitious woman who knows she can do better in life than what most people expect. Not only that, but the film was dedicated to its lyricist Howard Ashman, a gay man who died of AIDS only a few months before he could see the movie released in its final form. He knew what it was to be seen as a "beast" by most, to be an outcast, to be judged by nothing more than your exterior. He used this knowledge to craft the story and to show what happens when people listen to ignorant, close minded bullies such as Gaston. As a member of the LGTBQA+ community this hits particularly close to home for me. I love this movie because its message is so beautiful, and because it will always be relevant to someone. It is truly timeless.
