Unlike most people, I actually like love at first sight. I think it's romantic. And I don't need disney movies to be realistic.

I just watched Sleeping Beauty last night, and it made me relize how affective love at first sight can be. I liked the Princess and the Frog, but if you listen to the interveiws it sounds like they really don't like the other disney princess's asspecialy the classic ones.

Love at first sight is so romantic and dreamy...I would have definitely preferred it over not having love at first sight in this movie.

I am okay with the love at first sight thing, but it needs a different name, seeing as it is not love. For me, love is not based on appearances, that is either attraction or lust. For love to be present, there must be something deeper than the superficial attraction that "love at first sight" is really concerned with. Love is something deeper is what I am saying, and therefore needs to be developed. It is not fact, but in my experience, I met my boyfriend and we were only friends. It was not until I got to know him that I really started to fall in love with him... not for appearances or talents or anything like that, but for who he is on the inside. For once you love someone as a person, the greatest hurtle has been jumped. Wow, this was long.

I'm fine with Disney using love at first sight. It's not something I believe in for real life, but Disney tells fairy tales so why not? I only picked this option is because of the way the love at first sight is handled in Snow White. Because of the limitations they were stuck with for the prince, the scene isn't very good at getting me to buy any chemistry between them. The love at first sight in sleeping beauty and the little mermaid I thougt was fine, wouldn't change it, but in Snow White it was lacking something for me. It's not so much that I wish they hadn't gone the love at first sight route, I just with it had something more to it, though I know it's not Disney's fault, they didn't yet have the animating experience. So I'm somewhere in between the two options. I'd want it to stay love at first sight, but wish the meeting that love at first sight is based on had more to it (aside from it containing one of the Disney princess moments I find funniest. Him jumping over her wall, sneaking up behind her and joining in her song always makes me laugh)

I love their love at first sight, first of all, it's just that them getting to know each other makes for a more interesting movie, and YES I KNOW IT'S FOR KIDS!!!

I agree with everyone who said that love at first sight as a concept is more than acceptable for a fairy tale and a Disney movie and it can be handled beautifully, but there were some major issues with the way it was portrayed in Snow White. I'm picking this option not because I'm against the fact that Snow and Prince were supposed to be a classical love at first sight kind of story but because like people before me already said, something was lacking there. I believe that even love at first sight romances shoudl have a substance - in fact, they should have even more of it than the gradual love kind of stories because substance is the only basis for a relationship in case when two characters fall in love instantly. With Snow and Prince there was no substance and therefore no basis. Aurora and Phillip had plenty of substance despite instantly falling for one another, even in those short few minutes of their first meeting/"date" we already saw emotional struggles on Aurora's part - on one hand, she ended up having feelings for him despite him not being the prince - as she believed at that point - that she met "once upon a dream" and on the other hand her "aunts" didn't let her talk to strangers, let along go on dates with them, that being the reason why she was so conflicted and first rejected Phillip but then told him to come around the same evening. Phillip then comes back to palace and confronts his father about his outdated values and old fasioned world views telling him he is not going to marry a princess because he already fell in love with a simple village girl, not knowing yet that the girls and the princess were the same person. Basically, there were a lot of plot twists and things their story held on to, once again, there was a basis, there was a plot. Snow and Prince didn't have any plot or even any storyline whatsoever beyond "One day my prince will come" and him actually coming to find her two times. The lovestory itself wsn't handled in a consistent or interesting manner for me to even care about it.
