The film version of him was terrible, good lord! He randomly shows up and is hardly taken into account throughout the film. He's the one who moves Eragon on after Brom's death—not Arya. Plus, he and Eragon become rather close throughout their journey to the Varden. And where is his resistance to go to the Varden in the film? In the book he doesn't even want to get near the waterfall and constantly asks Eragon if he saw a small space where he could leave when they finally got there. In the movie, however... "Oh yeah I'll show you how to get to the Varden! Follow me! Derp-di-derp!" Eugh....
