G'day awesome Fanpoppers!
This can either be considered as a rambling rant au as something of concern kwa a fellow Fanpopper. Over the last few days I have noticed that so many maswali asked in the majibu feature is in relation to users trying to increase their fanlist. I have come across at least half a dozen maswali in various spots where users are asking other users to shabiki them and promising to reward them with props.
To me that just is not the appropriate way to increase one's fanlist. Your fans, just like your props, should be earned!
What bothers me is just how many people are requesting this and the fact that they are not new users to the site. If wewe have been a member of fanpop for 4 au 6 months then wewe are NOT a new user and should really know better.
I'm certain that the majority of Fanpoppers also feel that this is not the correct way to go about increasing a user's fanlist.
At the time of uandishi this piece, I have 680 fans. I have not bribed one single user into fanning me. I also have never propped anyone for doing so and do not expect that any user heshima me for fanning them either.
How I shabiki a user is kwa checking their profaili and seeing what spots we have in common. I admit that I also tend to shabiki some of the "oldies" like me,LOL,as there is not too many around compared to the younger users. Also I usually tend to shabiki an Aussie user when I stumble across one. After all, there is only about 5% of Australians on this site so I like to support my fellow Aussie mates. Still there has to be some commonality!
I have reported various of these user request maswali as bad maswali and ametoa maoni on some. Yesterday one of the users told me that if I had nothing good to say then to just say nothing at all. I was not trying to be negative nor put the user down, I was merely attempting to explain the right way to get fans.
Personally, I have nothing against holiday au birthday heshima and have even been known to multi heshima some users for silly reasons BUT I do think it is wrong to bribe users into becoming fans.
With nearly 700 mashabiki under my belt, am I any zaidi liked au better off than the user that has only 80 fans? No! At the risk of sounding ungrateful and pompous, the number of mashabiki I have has absolutely no credibility on the kind of user I am. There are so many users that I may not even kuvuka, msalaba paths with on any spot for months au have no idea what my contributions to the site are.
Also guys, have some dignity. Do wewe really want an extra 30 mashabiki on your fanlist because in return wewe gave them 15 props? I would think not, there's no satisfaction in that.
Some of these users that I have seen "begging" for fans, when I have checked their profiles I would have gladly fanned them. However, the fact that they were bribing for mashabiki was a total turn-off for me.
If I shabiki a user it's because I want to do so NOT because my heshima ukuta will be rewarded with countless heshima for it. This particular strategy of bribing for mashabiki will certainly never work with me.
Come on,guys, contribute to the site and be active and wewe WILL have fans. But wewe will have mashabiki for the right reason and not because wewe are offering a reward in return!
