Warner Music Canada announced the signing of musician / actor Hugh Dillon to a multi-album record deal. The first album will be Dillon’s debut solo album Works Well With Others, scheduled to be released this Fall.

Hugh Dillon first earned notoriety in Canada and abroad as the lead-singer in the multi-platinum band The Headstones. Throughout their career The Headstones were a relentless touring machine whose live shows were near legendary thanks in large part to Dillon’s intense performances. But Hugh never let his antics get in the way of his songwriting which was always key to the band’s success. He has been praised as a brutally honest songwriter never afraid to tackle difficult or taboo subject matter.

For Works Well With Others, the rough around the edges Hugh that fans had come to know has given way to a more dapper Mr. Dillon. His penchant for screaming has been replaced by a more subtle sound incorporating a wider palette of styles while still showcasing his no holds barred lyrics.

But for all of his acting, Dillon has never strayed far from his musical roots. He brings his music to whatever project he works on and original pieces have been included in Flashpoint, Durham County, The Trailer Park Boys: The Movie and the Jennifer Lynch-directed film Surveillance. Over the past few months Hugh has spent time in Kingston at The Tragically Hip’s Bathouse Recording Studio working for the Hip’s Paul Langlois who produced the tracks on Works Well With Others.

A full track listing and release date will be announced later this summer.
