She wasn't a monster.

Definitely not a monster

She was a person who was scared; she thought she was cursed so Elsa stayed in fear. She isn't a monster. That damned Duke of Weselton is a idiot for calling Elsaa monster; even wanting to debate with her even after the eternal winter was resolved.

^Okay, as perhaps the only Duke of Weselton fan in existence, I have to say something. He called her a "monster" because he was afraid. He'd never met Elsa before. He didn't know what kind of person she was. And she HAD shot ice at him, albeit accidentally. Don't hate a character just because he doesn't know everything that's going on. Very few characters do.

HOWEVER, that does not mean he's right. Elsa is not a monster. She never wanted to hurt anyone (the only time she came close, with the Duke's men, was in self defense), which is why she shut herself away and tried to leave the kingdom in the first place. So no, Elsa is definitely not a monster.

In fact, I never think Elsa or her power are monstrous at all. It's because her exaggerated fear with her power that makes her cannot control it.

Watch from the beginning of the movie, where Anna was trying to wake Elsa up. Did she freeze everything in her room like she did when she become older? Now, let's talk about when Anna and Elsa were playing in the snow. She could control the power, as if she was an expert to her power. She could make hill that are made out of snow, she could build snowman, she could make something like snow firework, and she could make the floor become ice. When the accident happened, it is when she has some trouble controlling her power. She ruined everything in the huge room, including the snowman. If she really has some trouble controlling her power before the accident, how can she make all these beautiful and fascinating stuff out of ice and snow? Anyways, watch it from the moment when Anna and Elsa were having a great time when they were young. Then, compare Elsa's power after the accident. You will know what I'm trying to say.

^No, that made sense to me. When Elsa was playing with Anna at the beginning, she wasn't afraid and she could definitely control her power. It's only when she's really emotional - scared, angry, upset - that she loses control over it.

Fear can make people do irrational things. As they say, there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Elsa was not a monster she couldn't contral her powers :(
