Chapter 23 : A Vagabond Waltzing With A Sinner
Winry nodded her head violently.
"Yes, it was." Mason cocked a brow as Evangeline returned to the hallway with the other teens, this time her dress was layered, they were thin layers, but layers nonetheless. Winry smiled and waved to her.
"Hello." She alisema simply as she rushed down the stairs.
"She's an odd one isn't she?" Said Mason, watching her try not to trip on her tiered dress.
"Get ahold of yourself." charlotte alisema to her self as she splashed cool water on her pale face. She had rushed into the bathroom, thinking she had gone mad and started to hallucinate. But her vision had not deceived her, they all were truly there. So, they had unknowingly found her. charlotte was churning with feelings, she wanted to return nyumbani with her friends, but she also wanted to give Rosemary her daughter back. It was indeed a lose-lose situation. She looked up into the mirror; realizing her hair had began to curl, turning back into her original hair. "I'm guessing this is a sign...." She whispered as she played with one of her tiny curls.
"Attention towns people!" Rosemary bellowed over the crowd, tapping on her glass with her silver fork.
"I'd like to make a toast to my wonderful daughter that God has returned to us." Edward and the rest of the group had changed into formal wear, Winry sporting a pink dress with its hem draped and pulled up to the side, clipped up with a cotton rose. Mason had made himself presentable by slicking back his short golden hair, a blue kanzu, koti was pulled over a white wife beater with black patashika, longi and his boots tucked underneath. Edward on the other hand was wearing a black dress shati that was half way buttoned up with a white tee underneath, sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He had pulled his hair back into a mature, high and tight gppony, pony tail, with black dress pants and his boots. Alphonse was well, Alphonse.
Evangeline was standing inayofuata to her "mother", looking down at her gloved right hand. Something was up, it just didn't sit well with Edward for some reason. She looked too stiff to be in the position she was, she should be comfortable with being returned nyumbani and zaidi than grateful to the town for alerting the authorities. The crowd threw up their glasses with a celebratory cheer, save for Edward and his group.
"Now," Rosemary alisema jovially "Stay as long as you'd like!" She then exited the room, leaving Evangeline stranded in a sea of strangers without a raft.
It seemed that everyone but Edward had disappeared into their rooms for the night, he had assured his Marafiki that he would be alright alone in the Ball Room. Everything was in it's place, a large meza, jedwali full of different varieties of food, a large tiered, half eaten cake adorned the center of the white table. Edward just wandered around the room, his shoes echoing off the walls of the large marble room. A whimpering stopped his in his tracks, it was a lonesome song that sent shivers up his spine. He decided to investigate, flitting around the hotel until he came to the lobby. There, in the middle, laying her head on the kisima, chemchemi was Evangeline. She dipped her right hand in the fountain, scrubbing at the marking on the juu of her skin. Edward just watched the sniffling girl, he wasn't very good with crying people, he usually would just ignore au insult them , but now that he had found her, he knew he had to do something to help her. "Excuse me?" She snapped her head up and shuffled her hand back into the white glove. "Oh, I'm sorry." She sniffled and rose from her resting place as he approached her forlorn form. "Are wewe alright?" He alisema as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked away from her. He tried to onyesha as little concern as possible. "Yea, I'm fine." Evangeline wiped her eyes free of tears and her mascara away from her face. "Just a little depressed thats all." She just walked kwa him into the ballroom, Edward looked to her back, the dress she was wearing was cut down almost to her bottom, and her hair covered part of it. Though a large red line was visible through her light, and slightly wavy hair. He followed her with burning suspicion. "So, can I talk to you?" She nodded and stopped in the middle of the room. "What did wewe want to talk about......?" She tried her best to disguise her voice. "I-I want to know..." He couldn't just come out and ask if he was really who she alisema she was, he would seem too pushy. So instead, he just alisema the first thing that came to his mind. "if wewe would want to dance." He held out his arm with nervous eyes as she scanned his red face. Evangeline took it and lead him farther away from the table, placing her hands around his neck as he put his arms around her waist. It was an awkward situation, he tried to stop eye contact kwa pulling her in closer, resting his head on her shoulder and her doing the same.
"That boy is here." The chimeras in the cages went wild as the venomous words trickled off her tongue . "I can't have him here, that girl is not my daughter." Rosemary had gone into the basement once again, a whole laboratory was located in the bowels of the hotel. "Evangeline is dead, I should know. That girl....." Her irises dissolved into the whites of her eyes as she unlocked one of her cages. "It's that charlotte Wintercrest." A large, scaly creature slunk out of it's cage and into the shadows. "I want wewe to torment Edward and his friends, make them leave. They can't be here when I extract the Philosopher's Stone from that imposter." The senile woman pointed to the door of the cellar. "Go."
Winry had retired to her room, along with the rest of the party goers. Though she couldn't seem to fall alseep. After another twenty dakika of rolling over, pulling sheets on, just to kick them off later, she flipped on the tv. She wasn't really watching it, she just watched the lights reflect off her blanket. Her eyes closed gradually, first half-lidded, then flipping them back open when a loud noise from the speakers startled her. She succumbed to the alluring comfort of slumber, the televisheni still flashing colors. "Sssssss." She bolted upright, rotating her head to scan the apartment. Then reaching for the remote and muting the t.v. "Huh." she flipped the televisheni off and pulled her sheets over her head. "Sssssss." she knew she heard it this time. She threw the blanket off and went to investigate, clicking on her bedside lamp. The moment the room was illuminated, she was met face to face with a large creature, scales gleaming in the lamp light. Winry was frozen with fear, the blood in her veins was frostbitten.
Winry nodded her head violently.

When he suffers the consequences and loses everything he holds dear, she will give all she has to offer.
When he can't stand on his own, she will teach him how to walk again.
When he burns down the past in the name of making a future, she will salvage the memories worth keeping.
When he has no nyumbani and no light to pierce the darkness, she will provide hers.
When he leaves, she will wait for his return.
When he wavers, she will hold him steady.
When he struggles with demons, she will fight with him.
When he won't listen to reason, she will knock some sense into him.
When he breaks, she will fix it and forge it stronger.
When he refuses to cry, she will wash his pain in her own tears.
When he cannot upendo himself, she will.
And when he finally conquers the odds, she will be there to say:
"Idiot. Welcome home."
