Game of Thrones Season 6 Is Coming, Fake Episode Titles Are Here

I remember visiting this website once...
It was called About Those False Game of Thrones Episode Titles...
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
It’s that time again, folks. Filming is over, but the first trailer for the new season hasn’t hit the airwaves yet. Yes, it’s time for another round of False Information.
Season 6 episode titles” floating around the web. Most likely, both are false, photoshopped/falsified creations. In fact, one of them is so bad, I can even believe anyone takes it seriously.
Dutch website MySeries.com, which posted them just under the correct episode titles for the first five seasons, and just before the titles of the
specials that have aired over the years. The only problem is they are so all wrong, it’s not even funny. Clearly these were created by someone who very much missed the Iron Islands last season. We know the Iron Islanders will return in Season 6, but it’s doubtful they’ll dominate the first episode.
The rest of the titles fall like dominoes. George R.R. Martin has implied that Manderly isn’t in the show, and the character who might stand in for him doesn’t seem to have a large part. Therefore, no way is episode two “White Harbour.” Having heard little to nothing about the Griffs during the off-season, odds that “The Mummer’s Dragon” is a title are also very low.
And an episode called “My Lord”? Has this person ever watched this show? The only thing that makes “The Last Heir” not the least believable title on this list is the “My Lord” one that precedes it.
Now, I am not opposed to an episode called “The Winds of Winter,” or variations thereof, but it should be noted that we’ve never had an episode title that resembled a novel title. “The Dance of Dragons” came close, but that’s actually a reference to a Westerosi civil war, not to the novel
. “Crow’s Eye” sounds like more obsessing over the Ironborn, and “Valonqar” strikes me as someone who is too eager to see Cersei kick the bucket. As for “The Long Night,” we’re not there yet, kids. Can we be done debunking these? Good, moving on.
Our second round of titles only showed up this week, and has started to make the rounds after appearing briefly on the
wiki. I give credit to the person who made these up. They clearly sat down, waded through the many Season 6 spoilers available, and made educated guesses.
These are slightly better titles guesses. Some are even based on titles that have come before. For instance, Episode 3, “Rise Lord Stark,” is a nice call back to Season 1’s “Lord Snow,” although the parallel would be a lot cleaner if they dropped the word “Rise.” The synopses also look like they were written by someone who has read HBO’s sometimes hilariously understated episode descriptions, but “A newly resurrected Jon” is not a phrase I think HBO plans to put in *any* synopsis, especially in Episode 2.
Also, we have no proof that Aeron is in this season, or even exists on the show, so his being mentioned in the Episode 3 description is suspect. But the real damning evidence: Meereen? Misspelled.
As I said before, this is someone who definitely has their ear to the ground when it comes to spoilers. The summary for Jaime in episode 6 is a perfectly legit reading of the scene filmed in Girona at the Cathedral. I personally love “Bran must look into the past to save the future” as a description of Bran’s vision of The Tower of Joy (which we suspect will be in Episode 5.)
Here’s where any legitimacy falls apart. Again, here is this insistence we must have an episode titled for a book that won’t come out until after the season is over. And though we are all walking around calling episode 9 “The Battle of the Bastards,” chances are that was a nickname for the battle given to it by the production, and not the title of the actual episode. Meereen? Still Misspelled.
So what will the episode titles be? I’ll admit this is where I fall down. I have always been 100% wrong when I try to guess these things. (See also: Powerball.) My writer-in-crime Razor, on the other hand, has a real knack for it. He actually landed a couple right on the nose last year in his speculation post. What do you think the titles will be this season? And is it too Shakespearian of me to want the episode where Arya meets to players to be called “The Quality of Mercy”?
Maybe. This was the most closely-contested poll we’ve ever had. People were pretty split. As...
Welcome to WiC Weekly. Let’s take a look at the biggest bits of Game of Thrones news from...
Have you already read all the books and/or don\'t care about spoilers? You can reveal all the spoilers in the comments with the click of a link below.
Wasn’t it also stated that Bran’s training took place offscreen?
Anyways, GoT episode titles tend to refer to multiple things in the episode. They are usually not so specific.
Any ideas when the trailer comes out? Soon, right???
Lol. I hope there’s some sarcasm font attached to this.
Titles of GOT in S5 was mostly a phrase mentioned in the dialogue in that or a previous Episode (Kill the Boy / 3U in Dorne) and sometimes its a noun (Hardhome/ House of White and Black)
But they are smart ones which carry double meanings but ever rarely divulges the content of the Episode
I LOVE the title: Rise Lord Stark. Love it!
Maybe just “Lord Stark” because there was an episode “Lord Snow”
Other typos: “citidel” instead of Citadel, and there’s no need for an apostrophe in the plural Greyjoys.
On episode seven it says doran sends trystane to meereen but surely he would be in kings landing as he was on the boat with jamie
Why would they name an episode “Valonquar” when the word has never been uttered on the show?
I think season 6 starts with Sansa and Theon. Then the Brienne Stannis aftermath. Then I see Edd or Davos finding a dead Jon. Kingslanding with Cercei getting the news of Marcellas death from Jaime. Quick pop in on Tommen and then Margaery. The episode will finish with a look in on Tyrion and Varys and then Jorah and Daario. The final scene will be Dany and Dothraki with her calling out to Drogon to help.
I think the episode is going to began with bran. Either dreaming or ‘seeing’ Jon snows death as he did with Ned’s and robs.
I also wonder about the title of the resurrection episode, maybe “WINTER ROSE”, “THE RETURN OF THE WOLVES” , “LIGHTBRINGER”, “THE KING OF THE NORTH”, ” ICE DRAGON”, ” THE DRAGON AND THE WOLF”, “LORD STARK” …. “AZOR AHAI”
If spelling and grammar errors discredit an article, I’ll assume this article to be discredited as well. (If you’re going to point out other folk’s mistakes, you’d better do a better job proofreading.)
‘The Battle of the Bastards” seriously? Almost as bad as “Reunions” or “Lineage.”
Imagine if season 3 had titles like “Weddings” and “Swords”
1 is a reference to Bran returning, also could be termed Greenseer. 2 broad stroke suggesting some early screen time for the Greyjoys. 3 Jon is shown and resurrected and leaves Castle Black and heads for The Gift. 4 suggesting this is where Dany is set in Vaes Dothrak (her storylines typically move slowly). 5 Bran finally envisions his father’s secret. 6 hints at the siege of Riverrun and the Tullys perhaps Blackfish saving his idiot nephew before his own honor since family comes first. 7 uniting the wildlings Umbers (First Men) with forever in debt to the Starks, Manderlys. 8 the words of House Mormont suggesting Jorah may be exiting. 9 this also be called Gravedigger, I think we will actually see a trial by combat between the hound and mountain and it will stand as the penultimate moment of the season (I expect the faith to win but doubt Cersei dies so simply). 10, Davos returns with Osha, Shaggy Dog and Rickon, THE KING OF WINTER.
I can see the title “Family, duty, honour” for the Siege of Riverrun.
Greyjoy episode should be called “We do not sow”
Lots of good guesse there but episode 9 will be the battle up north so it can’t be faith militant, but I do like tower of joy
“Night Gathers” could be a good title for episode 1, alluding to the terrible state of the Nights Watch, coming of the Long Night, and general hopelessness we ended Season 5 on.
“The Winds of Winter” could be a good season finale title if the last 2 seasons are the War for the Dawn.
I like “Family, Duty, Honor” to allude to the Tullys as well as family conflicts that will likely arise during the season.
I feel like earlier seasons have used up a lot of the GOT words, terms, and sayings that make good episode titles (The North Remembers, Fire and Blood, etc.).
When I hear rumors that they’re bringing characters like Edmure, Blackfish, the Hound, Osha, Rickon back they usually have pivotal moments. I really think Mormont is going to bite the dust and I expect him to get a large focus in his particular episode.
I fully expect him to bite it in S6 as well. His character is somewhat redundant now on the show and serves no specific function anymore that isn’t being filled by another character. As an advisor to the Queen able to give insights into her enemies in Westeros, he’s been supplanted by Tyrion and as a bodyguard / warrior he’s been replaced by both Grey Worm and Daario. The same way that Tyrion’s arrival in Mereen in S5 allowed them to kill off Ser Barristan (which I’m still pissed off about)…
…I expect Mormont to die leading an attack against the Yunkish forces in the climactic battle for Mereen towards the end of the season –
likely the same counterattack against the trebuchets that Ser Barristan is leading in TWOW (based on preview chapters)… – I figure that he’ll draw their forces forward and pin them down, at which point Dany and her new khalasar will show up and attack them in the rear while the ironborn show up and assault them from their seaward flank. Basically the Battle of Cannae set in Essos…
1. The crows eye 2. Ice and fire 3. Broken men 4. The stallion who mounts the world 5. The sparrows rose 6. The dornish mans wife 7. The lion and the fish 8. The battle of fire 9. The battle of ice. 10. Winter
I like family duty honor way better than the lion and the fish
Lion and the Fish sounds like a bad Aesop’s fable.
Anyone else notice that none of the synopsis mentioned Arya? First red flag for me that they’re fake. Nice try though.
Am I the only one who would prefer to NOT have Bran travel into the past and save the world? Fuck that premise sounds cheap.
The theory is that he’ll go into the past to learn secrets no one else (or almost no one else) is alive to tell anymore. I think the consensus is that he will confirm R+L=J this season.
Ramsay burns OSHA and Podrick alive in the cross. Then he tricks jon into saving Rickon but when jon is about to catch rickon Ramsay puts a narrow in rickon. The battle begins. The boltons use big shields( there is a photo from the battle that proves this) and kill a great part of Jon’s army. When they are surrounded littlefinger arrives with the nights of the vale and smash the boltons army. Lord umber then chases Roose Bolton and fights him in single combat and kills him. Ramsay fled back to winterfell. Wun Wun smashes the gate and jon gets the thenns to make a good job on Ramsay
Knowing Dan, Dave and George its probably Olly and Ed on the Crosses. Jon in story doesn’t know Osha and Podrick. I bet a Million$ its Olly on the cross.
An extra from the battle( several of them actually) told me this happened
Episode 10- Az-heir apparent- Kevan gets the shaft, Aegon claims the crown.
The episode descriptions are neither terse enough nor vague enough. HBO does not telegraph nearly that much in advance.
For Jon’s rez scene, ‘And now his watch is ended’ may be already taken, but another phrase from the NW vows would serve: ‘It shall not end.’ Nice and vague.
I can see an early episode that focuses on Jons resurrection and the iron born being called “What is Dead May Never Die”
Heres my predictions: The seasons opens with Bran relaying a vision to Jon similar to how he did with theon in the books where he shows his parentage(Via tower of Joy). After this Jon wakes up having been resurrected by Melisandre. This has to happen quickly due to the Night’s Watch likely to burn Jon’s corpse. Jon, Melisandre and Davos take over the night’s watch again, with everyone amazed by his resurrection with the traitors being executed. They get a letter from Ramsay demanding Sansa and Reek be returned to him or the Boltons would attack Castle Black. Jon decides to move against the Boltons. Jon, like Beric has changed a lot in his resurrection, worshiping the Lord of Light and becomes very close to Melisandre.
Sansa and Theon part ways, Sansa is reuinited with Brienne and Podrick and they go to the Umbers for shelter and are reunited with Rickon and Osha, who tell them Bran has gone in search of the three eyed Raven. Jon will go to the Umbers too, to unite them to his cause along with the Wildlings and various other northern lords. There’s a Stark family reunion with Jon, Sansa and Rickon.Littlefinger also will join in at one point or another.
They fight the Boltons at Winterfell, where I’m guessing Tormund and Osha and maybe Brienne die. Ramsay has a sword fight with Jon who wins and takes him prisoner. Sansa later kills Ramsay in revenge. At the end of the season the wall falls, and the Night’s king slaughters the Night’s Watch and makes his move on the North.
Theon goes to the Iron Islands to find out his father dies. He plays Victarian’s role from the books. Euron becomes king and commands him to sail to Mereen to meet Daenerys. Arya continues to train, and discovers she’s and warg. She regains her sight and goes rogue from the faceless men, she is back in the Riverlands by the end of the season.
In Kingslanding Jaime brings news of Mrycella’s death. That and his discovery of Cersei’s affair with Lancel lead him to break up with Cersei. He helps free Margary from prison then goes to the Riverlands to lay siege to the Blackfish. Olenna has a “I watched Jane die” moment with Cersei where she reveals she killed Joffrey. Cersei kills her and goes all out agaisnt the Sparrows. Thanks to Gregor She wins but her forces are broken. and Daenerys is on her way.
In Mereen Tyrion and Varys are holding the city together with the Plague and the Harpy causing problems. Tyrion gives a job to a Red Priestess which angers Varys, who goes to Dorne to get them to join Dany. By the end of the season Meereen is under attack by the Yunkish and Daenerys saves the day with the Dothraki. Tyrion also releases the dragons and maybe is confirmed to be a dragon rider. Daenerys and Tyrion set sail for Kingslanding
Also, we have no proof that Aeron is in this season, or even exists on the show
Actually, there is a confirmation from a source that Aeron was cast. It was reported over at WotW back in september.
Also, wasn’t Theon reported being present at the Kingsmoot? If so, he will most probably be back at the Iron Islands in the first half of the season.
