Girl’s Generation/SNSD Swali

What does 'unnie' mean?

Is it 'big sister' in Korean? Because in Japan, sometimes you'll usually call an older girl au woman 'onee-chan' which is Japanese for 'big sister'.

>_< Sorry. I'm zaidi familiar with Japanese than Korean.
