'SNL Korea' apologizes for burning Girls' Generation picha in latest Wonder Girls episode
The staff members of 'SNL Korea' have issued an officially apology to SM Entertainment, SONES, members of Girls' Generation, as well as the viewers for their hivi karibuni episode, hosted kwa Wonder Girls, that discomforted many viewers.
In one of the skits titled, 'The 5th Army President,' members of Wonder Girls were seen depicted as military generals who took the kiti cha enzi for their numerous years of being the number one girl group for soldiers.
As a part of the skit, SNL crew members were seen burning and stomping on picha of Girls' Generation, infuriating Korean SONES. The skit also made it seem as though the only reason Girls' Generation was able to take the number one spot was only because Wonder Girls left for America.
In response to the angry fans, 'SNL Korea' ilitumwa an official apology to SONES and SM Entertainment via Facebook.
They wrote, "We would like to address the scene involving Girls' Generation that aired during the 'The 5th Army President' digital skit of yesterday's episode hosted kwa Wonder Girls. While trying to illustrate Wonder Girls' history in a drama format, we couldn't avoid mentioning the most maarufu group Girls' Generation. We apologize for making Girls' Generation mashabiki uncomfortable and we will make sure to be zaidi attentive in the future. The controversial scene is be either deleted au revised during reruns of the episode. We apologize again to Girls' Generation, their fans, and SM Entertainment."
