Gossip Girl Article: Why Dair would NEVER work out?

Plz don’t attack me I’m just stating facts, and as they always say the truth hurts

As we all know from the first season until now Dan was always the OUTSIDER, LONELY BOY he even wrote a whole book about being the outsider and that’s after spending 4 & half years with the upper east sider’s circle.

No matter what he been through with them (Nate, Serena, chuck, Blair …) he still judge them and saw himself BETTER than them, still after everything he still looks down on them, want a proof Nate his best friend didn’t even have a dissent role in his book, the girl he loved since he was a teenager wrote her as shallow, rich girl who didn’t care about anyone au anything, and loved to put the spot light on, he made her look like a drama queen, and until the middle of S4 he always thought of Blair as the worst thing about the upper east siders.

Blair represented everything he HATES about rich people, he had morals and ethics against being Marafiki with people like her let alone falling in upendo with her, and before wewe start to say that’s the “great” thing about it that despite all of that he still wants to be with Blair, don’t because guess what he still thinks low of the upper east siders so making an exaptation for Blair (the worst thing in the upper east alisema like Dan alisema in 1x04) makes him a HYPOCRITE and being with Blair makes losses EVERYTHING he ever believed in, everything that he wrote about in his book, it makes him lose his identity. I have never been a big shabiki of Dan, but I have always been to recognize him from the crowed, he was the one person who was different from all of them, but now I can’t find one unique word to describe him.

The same goes for Blair, I mean this Blair Waldorf, we talking about, Queen B, Queen of upper east siders, who ruled high school, who despite the obstacles got to the college she wants (at least her sekunde choice) who dated a duke and is married to a prince (yes I know they don’t upendo each other now but he was in upendo with her at some point) even so he’s a freaking prince, she represents everything miraculous about being an upper east sider, she has one of the best sense of fashion and cares about appearances therefor has high standers of the guys she dates, guys who get haircuts when their hair looks like a MUPPET, putting that aside she has high standers of the kind of guys, guys who don’t judge people and CARRY people.

Blair is a queen, who needs someone that is equal to her to role, and I don’t think hypocrite Muppet hair BOY is up to that standers

I mean GG mashabiki wewe do realize for these two to be together (Dan & Blair) it will ruin their characters completely right? the characters that wewe have been watching develop and evolve for the past 4 and half years, all that growth of character will be out of the window

So basically dair being together not only it DOESN’T make any SENSE, but it RUINS the WHOLE plot of gossip girl.

overthedges Blair is a queen, who needs someone that is equal to her to role Chuck is not her equal at all. BLAIR SAID IT TOO. (4x09) she was on drugs? Most of you don't know Blair's character at all. She grew so much since the first season but you still see her just like 'Queen B, the powerful evil girl'. She was and she is not just that. She doesn't want play games anymore, she just want a mature relantionship with a person who truly know her, pure love and happiness. She said that. Not bc she is scared of her feelings for Chuck but because she is more mature now. This is progression. Chuck was her first love, a consuming passionate love but they are not meant to be because Chuck is not the person she wants to be with anymore. She wants different things. Is it so hard to believe that the first love might not be you TRUE LOVE? Do you end up with your high school first love? they always say the truth hurts this is why most of Chair fans are scared of Dair i guess :D

shaa-lanniezria Don't you get it? the whole point of evolving isn't changing the person you are and morals and ethics just because of the person your with or the person you fall in love with (or friendship etc).. evolving is about progressing as a person. It's not about not being friends with someone because they aren't on the same level as you, thinking your better then someone because of what their background was isn't the case. This is what the show is about, yes it's about gossip girl, but think about it, it's like a metaphor, because what happened was: Dan and Blair had morals and things they believed in, Dan hated all the bitchyness and wealth and greed in the upper east side and thought he was better that because he was different from them, and Blair had lots of money, she enjoyed scheming, she was a snob, therefore she didn't like Dan and the fact he came from Brooklyn because she thought she was better then all of that etc etc.. anyway, somehow he fell in love with her, what you don't get is the main thing, he loves her because of who she is, not in spite of it (and vice versa) they came full-circle because of their friendship and love, not because of their backgrounds, this is what the show is about, it's about bringing two worlds together. They evolved into people that overcame society and ethics because of love and what it made them to be, their true selves, because that's how they fell in love.. because of who they were, not in spite of it. In conclusion, they haven't changed who they are through each other, they came together because of it, Dan doesn't care that blair is a snob and has money, just like blair doesn't care about dan't 'muppet' hair or that he's from brooklyn. They are equals together, they are themselves. They defeated today's modern society rules and odds. Like they say, love conquers all. p/s sorry for rambling on, and i hope you don't ignore this just because your a chair fan, im just trying to help and it took me ages haha, and sorry if it doesn't make sense to you, it's late and im tired and its hard to explain what i mean, but it's easy knowing it.

rere14 This actually quite interesting, I do want to ask u something, do you think it's ooc of blair to accept and love cyrus as her stepfather? If you answer no, then you must realize blair already see look at people much more than their appearance, it take her a long time, but she make exception for him because he make her and her mother happy and you can see the changing attitude from her mother in s1 until s3, she became much more better person after she's with cyrus, I think this the same thing happens with dair If you answer yes, than it's not dan's fault she changing, she already start it before they became friends, beside I think blair just growing up, she still a demanding and act like a queen, but she learn that appearance not the most important thing, she have relationship with a lord, billionaire, prince, all with great suit and hairstyle, but and all of them only breaks her heart

rere14 As for dan, like I said the characters has grown up, in s1 he can't stand the thought of UES, but in time he became nate's (the golden boy of UES) best friend, and one thing dan's learned throughout the years you need to knew people before you judge them, dan only knew what blair represent in s1, he only became to knew her as individual in s4, beside you can't be the same person and think like you were in high school, what you were in high school are different what you are now,

bdavis98 rere14, if u saying this then u really don't really know blair and understand her or get the point of GG. the whole point of blair's character is a about an upper east sider "bitch" who with all with all the faced layes a girl with biggest heart ever,and for blair to become just another venssa ruines the whole plot of GG and balir's character.

bratski2192 I don't exactly agree with this article, but I don't disagree either. I, for one, <3 Chair. They belong together. It's been made pretty obvious, IMO, from day one, that Chair are the ones who truly know each other inside & out. Chuck has changed a lot this season, plus all he wants is for Blair to be happy, & now he's backing off (for now). From the moment Blair said, *I love U. I love EVERY part of U...U are THE ONE I never want to leave*, & *I am dead inside without Chuck*, I knew that they will never be over. & for those who're calling Chuck Blair's first love: If I remember correctly, Nate was her first love, whereas Chair has gone past high school love, & lasted even after they got out of high school. I don't buy that Blair isn't in love with Chuck anymore, & has given her heart to Dan so fast, when just a few episodes back, she was professing her undying love for Chuck, & wanting to wait for one another, & still only seeing Dan as a platonic friend. It only took a kiss, & suddenly her heart belongs to Dan? This reminds me of the second half of S2 with Nate/Blair a bit. We shall see Dair as a romance run their course. I liked them better as friends, & loath that they're paired together with lack of buildup of Blair's feelings, but that's JMO.
