Why does voldermort have slits for a nose?

i asked both my mother and brother this ages ago, and they alisema 'read the books!' so i've read them and i'm still none the wiser.

can anyone answer this please, unless it in the last half of the deathly hallows as i have not finished the entire book.

1) It's because the snake's his symbol, and in his 'rebirth' he probably infused with his personality, which was very reptilian-oriented, and as wewe may have noticed, snakes have no noses, just slits.
2) To highlight his snakelike, Salazar Slytherin back round. Also, he may of used Nagini's horcux to rebirth and snakes have that kind of a nose.
