Very tough choice between Dumbledore/Grindelwald and these two. I wish JK would have gone into more depth with the D/G story. It's just so tragic! I mean, having to defeat the first person Dumbledore ever (probably... lol) loved? Ouch. Not to mention the whole Arianna business...

But I think Snape and Lily were even more tragic, in a way. D & G only knew each other for a few months. But poor Snape and Lily knew wach other for ever! And we have no idea how Grindlewald felt about Dumbledore, but we know that Lily never really loved Snape the way he loved her... and, man, did he ever love her!
If that "always" line doesn't break your heart, nothing will!
