Why did America break away from Britain?

Historically, the Americans were getting tired of being heavily taxed and over-controlled kwa a nation an ocean away, so they rebelled. In Hetalia, I suppose the reasons were pretty close to the original thing. America thought England was trying to control him too much and he fought for the freedom to become his own country. It's just the history, nothing that really goes along with a plot line.

Because he wanted his freedom!!! Murica!!!

I think personally that there's three possible reasons why America left
1) America's boss might have wanted America to stop being England's little brother for personal reasons.
2) America wanted to become a country so he could see the world through England's point of view and interact in it like he does.
3) America wanted to see England zaidi cause he always goes back to his country and deal with the issues there.
I think the reason why England fought with America is that America felt to embarrassed to tell him the reason and England took The deceleration of his independence the wrong way. Even now America seems to be to scared to tell him so they don't have the brotherly relationship no more.
