Hotch jolted awake when he felt something pulling his sleeve. he looked down to see his 5 mwaka old son standing at his bedside. He sat up.
“hey buddy, what’s wrong?” he asked, concerned about his son.
“nothing is wrong daddy. but i woke up because there is a women screaming down stairs.” he alisema quietly.
Hotch shot up to his feet then crotched down to his son’s level.
“alright jack I want wewe to go back and get in your bed. stay there and I’ll be there in a few minutes. ok?” he asked sternly.
“ok, daddy.” and with that jack was off, his little feet walking as fast as they could. just as he watched jack leave he heard the cries of the women jack had heard early. he rushed to the living room and stood there shocked. He saw Emily tossing and turning, struggling with he guessed someone in her dream. Sweat was dripping down her face and she looked terrified. He walked over to the kitanda and shook her slightly.
“Emily, Emily sweetheart wake up!” he alisema a little loud so she could hear him. just then in one mwepesi, teleka motion she shot up and punched him in the shoulder. “thud” and he hit the floor, she looked at the person that she thought was going to kill her au worse. OHmyGOD it was hotch, she just kicked her boss. She jumped off the kitanda and moved to the man wincing in pan.
“hotch! im so sorry, I thought, I didn’t, ugh! god im an idiot. sorry.” she felt so bad.
he looked up and smiled at her. “it’s fine Emily. i should have known better than to wake someone who was having a nightmare. but wewe woke up jack and I was worried so was he.” he replied,
then he stood up and held out his hand. she reluctantly took it and hopped to her feet. he sat down on the kitanda and she did the same. then she leaned over and put her hands over her face.
“im so sorry, i forgot where I was and that a five mwaka old boy would be frightened kwa a grown women screaming bloody murder.” she grumbled, feeling horrible about the events that happened tonight.
he pried her hands way from her face and held them in his hand, his thumb smoothing over her knuckles.
“it’s fine. he just didn’t know what to do so he came and got me. I’m glad he did, are wewe alright Emily? wewe can talk to me wewe know?” he asked sincerely.
she started crying and he pulled her to him. he ran his fingers through her hair, and then ran his hand up and down her back. soothing her, whispering comforting words in her ear. finally she quit crying and he pulled back. But she just clung to him tighter so he picked her up bridal style and began to walk up the stairs.
“what are wewe doing?” she whispered in his ear.
“im taking wewe up to my room, wewe need sleep and wewe aren’t going to get any on the couch.” he whispered back. he reached his room and laid her under the covers then pulled the covers over her he was just about to leave when her hand found his. she saw the look on his face and finally spoke up.
“im not going to ask anything of wewe that i know wewe don’t want to do, i just wanted to say thank you.” and with that she hesitantly let his hand go slowly.
“I will stay if wewe want.” he had seen the need in her eye’s and to tell the truth he would not mind at all sleeping in the same kitanda with Emily. he had grown to like her a lot.
she looked up at him, the look she gave him could have broke his moyo a million times. without waiting for her answer he slid in the kitanda beside her. and wrapped his arms around his waist.
“are wewe sure?” she asked.
“absolutely.” he alisema almost immediately. and scooted closer to her. she laid her head on his chest and they both slowly fell asleep in each other’s arms.
