They just laid on the floor in complete silence. He was completely wide awake. He just watched her in a daze as her head rested on his arm. She almost looked, tenderly drowsy.
"You still awake.." She asked sleepily.
"Yeah. You?" he asked sarcastically.
She laughed. She attempted to wake herself up. She blinked a few times to get a clearer picture of him.
"It's already six?" She exclaimed looking at his watch.
"We're not going to work."
"Yes we are."
She began to get up from the floor, covering herself in his sheets but he tugged on them and she fell back right on juu of him.
"Oh! Damn." He felt slight pain, but it didn't last.
"I hate you." She snarled at him, giving him that cute glare of hers.
"Oh stop that."
"You need to sleep and I have to get to work in an hour."
"We need to sleep and people need to get to work."
She sighed and put her chin on his chest. Her hair fell on both sides of his torso as they just stared at each other in the brief darkness. The sun was beginning to rise.
"Why are we like this?"
House just looked at her curiously. It came out of nowhere.
"How can we just have sex and forget about it?"
"Because it's us? We do stupid--things like this."
"I just. Two people, employer-employee, good friends--it doesn't add up to sex."
"Any two beings that are the opposite gender add up to sex."
She stared at him. Then she pulled the sheets around her again and sat up against the wall.
"When did our relationship get so complex?"
"It's always been swimming beneath the surface. It had to break through sometime. But if you're afraid of something, don't. I don't think I will end up pursuing this. If I thought it would go somewhere, this would be the last place we would have sex."
She smiled. This is what she liked most about their relationship. They had been together for so long that it never really mattered what they did, what they say au how they reacted. It was all just--a formula that they would constantly follow. It never changed.
She stood up again, wrapping herself in the sheets and pulling back any loose ends so that he couldn't reach.
"I need to go to work. Go to sleep."
She kind of just stared at him at the door for a second. She held his sheets close.
"Good night, House."
"Good morning, Cuddy."
And she walked out, biting the smile on her face.
He was slightly disappointed. It hurt a little to watch her walk away like that. Usually, that's his job. But not this time.
A few doors opened and closed and then she was gone. The house was filled with light, but it was empty. It had a hollow feeling. Causing supposedly House's good night's rest into a whole other complication.

When does upendo become something we need, rather than something we want? upendo was seen as something special a long time ago. Now upendo is what we are expected to have with us everyday of our lives. upendo is common currency when wewe are a teenager, but turns to worthless pennies the older wewe get. Do we not care about the substance of what upendo was and not what it has been made into today kwa commercialisation from American sinema and televisheni commercials and soap operas? Only when we experience upendo for real, can we maoni and judge others who are in Love. upendo means something different to everyone. Not two people’s feeling of upendo is the same. Why do we generalize, rationalize and compartmentalize Love? upendo is and will continue to be an enigma. Only a handful of people will ever unlock it and witness its true beauty and essence. The essence we all crave.
Love.
Love.
