A lot of people have been complaining about both the newly discovered Luddy relationship and the supposed “change” in Cuddy that was unleashed in the last episode entitled, “Known Unknowns”. I disagree with those people’s opinion and think that the Lucas and Cuddy relationship is going to be an interesting arc that both promotes Huddy and unravels zaidi about the character of Cuddy and what she truly values in life. In this short makala I’m going to share my opinion and try to
onyesha all of wewe that the Lucas/Cuddy relationship will both end well and will be an enjoyable experience (especially for Cuddy mashabiki such as myself).
A lot of people, both on fanpop and livejournal, have been complaining about how Cuddy has changed this season, this piece of dialogue was what sparked that lot of complaining:
“I’m a mother now; I need someone I can depend on every day” (okay that’s not right, but something similar)
Known Unknowns, Season 6, Episode 7
A lot of mashabiki have been suggesting that the writers are changing Cuddy’s character, they state she’s always been an independent woman and she doesn’t need a man and now the writers are making her weak, au that they’re suggesting that single women can’t raise children kwa themselves.
I completely disagree.
While Cuddy kwa no means has needed a man in her life, she has always been looking for a man. From season 2 we’ve seen Cuddy using internet dating, inaonyesha immense amounts of cleavage and from nukuu like the one below from “No zaidi Mr. Nice Guy” we can see that Cuddy has always wanted to have a man in her life. She’s desperate for love, which explains her season 5 behavior. When she thought she had a chance with House, she didn’t back down and went in and tried to reel House in, but House being House, he screwed it up and so in the hiatus between Mayfield and House’s returning, I think Cuddy just kind of gave up on House. The writers are not suggesting that single women can’t raise a child kwa themselves, but they are suggesting that Cuddy doesn’t want to (and I think most single women want something similar).
“You want somebody to jump on wewe and tell wewe they upendo you, one grunted syllable at a time.”
No zaidi Mr. Nice Guy, Season 4, Episode 13
We haven’t been aliyopewa a lot about how Cuddy and Lucas ended up dating, but it’s salama to say that Cuddy sees him as her ticket to the white picket fences and blue shutters she wants so bad. Cuddy has always wanted those white picket fences, she may tell herself she doesn’t and act like she’s okay without them (and I do think she will be fine without them), but at the very core of her, Cuddy wants the “normal” life of being a wife and having children, but because of circumstances and bad choices/actions on her part, she has ended up alone and far from that dream. But recently she got Rachel, which put her closer and now that Lucas has come up, she’s that little bit closer. Lucas is a nice guy. He’s smart (yes he is, I believe he was incredibly nervous around House), funny, sweet and thinks she’s hangs the moon. He’s dependable and wow….he’s a good father figure and without House around, is there any wonder that Cuddy’s settling with him?
I think that now House is back, and that he seems to have improved on his social skills and generally wants to be both a better person and have a better life, she is going to be seriously reconsidering what she truly wants in life, I think that Cuddy’s whole perspective on life is going to be turned around in this arc .
Last season, it was House’s turn to have his life turned upside down and at the end of it/beginning of season 6, House’s priorities changed and he has finally gotten better and is ready to start a real relationship with Cuddy. But as is common with our ship, Cuddy isn’t ready, and I don’t believe she has ever been ready. Cuddy has always, and still, has her utopian dream of what she wants her life to be like, and until she gets rid of that notion, her and House can never be together, because he will never be enough. Last season all of the viewers saw that Cuddy was not ready to be with House, she seriously misjudged situations (aka Let them eat cake), blinded kwa her desire to be with someone, anybody. I think Lucas will give Cuddy a taste of what its like to be with someone “normal” and what its like to have a shot at a “normal” life, and I think that finally Cuddy will understand that in fact she doesn’t want “normal”, but she wants House.
So I’M SUPER EXCITED, because if I’m right then the Luddy arc that’s coming up will hold major character growth for Cuddy and I hope I swayed any of wewe that were either angry au annoyed with the way things turned out.
