She says Hugh has contracted for 8 seasons and everybody else for 7.

So, we could have House without Cuddy? House on Mars? House with his private practice (he would soon be starving)? I mean, nobody is sure to be here next year except mr. Laurie, right?

I'm expecting the beach scenes, etc., on the episode where Cuddy's mom surfaces to take care of Rachel so Huddy can take a romantic vacation. They wouldn't go to all that work, spend all that cash, then just cut the scenes. That's plain silly.

I know most relationships on house don't workout ,but i really hope this turns out to be the exception in Houseland. I also hope they end the series this season. go out with good ratings like 24 did. I also don't want huddy to break up and if there is a season 8 this will most likely happen, however their is part of me that thinks that TPTB are only telling us it going to fail because they know it will freakout people like the huddies and they will obssess over it! my mom a psycholigsist and she says this is normal marketing ploy that keeps fans on the edge of their seats. Why would they want to tell us the end of the story when were just at the begining of it. it does not make sense.

I think it's pretty clear that the show can't go on without the rest of the cast.

I wouldn't get too worried about it. Sure, the other people have only signed thru S7 but that doesn't mean anything. They signed HL for 8 because he is the foundation of the show, so they MUST have him. The others just probably haven't renegotiated their contracts. One by one, I'm sure they will all announce that they have signed on for S8.

Remember, although "House" has seen a slight decline in ratings over the past couple seasons, it is still an enormously successful show. Successful means profitable. Unless the cast members get a more lucrative and PERMANENT role in some other show, I doubt any major players will leave. I could see a duckling or two taking the plunge elsewhere but I think the core cast (HL, LE, RSL) will be here until the series ends.

EDIT: To add to my first paragraph, they also had to lock HL in for S8 because he is a recognizable enough actor now that some other show/network would try to snatch him up if he was about to enter "free agency".

EDIT #2: I really like the picture in the link. I like how the whole cast is looking at the camera EXCEPT Cuddy, who is looking in adoration at House. The only thing to make it better would have been if House was looking right back at her.
