I sat on my bed. My arms were wrapped around my legs and my face was buried in my knees. Tears ran down my cheeks. How could they? How could Kagome? I was her sister, her TWIN sister. This brought on a whole new set of tears. And InuYasha. His face appeared in my mind. His kind smile, they was his ears twitch when he’s frustrated, how he starts stuttering when confronted about his feelings. But he betrayed me… Then, he didn’t try and stop me when I left. The pain in my chest increased. It was as if my moyo was being twisted and ripped apart at the same time.
It’s been a few days and I haven’t left my room. My family comes in and tried to coax me out but I’ve refused. I’m still blind, stupid demon. I’m sitting on my bed, polishing my sword and practicing my echolocation. I hear footsteps coming up the stairs and sigh. Great, they’re gonna try and get me to come out again, I thought. The door opens. I don’t even bother trying to “see” who it is. They sit on my bed.
“Kyoko…”
My head snaps up. “K-Kagome?” I set my sword down and hug her. I’ve missed her so much. I can never stay mad at her. “How’ve wewe been?” I sit down again and start polishing my sword. A smile plays at my lips.
“I’ve been great. You?”
“Good. Considering the circumstances.”
“Listen Kyoko…The gang and I have been talking…”
I felt my whole body tense up. My hands curled into fists. I winced slightly as the blade cut into my palm. I wrapped the rag I had been using around it, tying it tightly.
“Kyoko?” Kagome said.
“No, Kagome,” my voice was hard, as was my face. “I do not want to go back.”
I heard Kagome sigh. The kitanda shifted as her weight left. The door closed. I sighed and set my sword down.
“Kyoko?”
I gasped and looked up, clicking. There, standing in the corner, “InuYasha…”
He walked over and knelt in front of me. “Yeah, it’s me.”
I glared at him. “What do wewe want?”
“I wanted to see you,” he gently touched my hand.
I pulled away. “Well, I’m not ready to forgive you.”
“Alright,” he said. He set something on my lap. “I’ll see wewe later.” I looked up at clicked. I was alone. I gently unwrapped the package. A round object rolled into my hands. I slowly ran my fingers over the smooth but slightly hairy surface. I brought the object to my nose and sniffed deeply. A wonderful scent filled my nose. It smelled like the most wonderful matunda in the world. I sank my teeth into the soft skin, feeling it tear away. Juice, ran into my mouth, sending my taste buds. I immediately tasted the sedatives though. My eyes rolled back in my head and I fell back on my bed, the matunda rolling from my hand.
