I think the concept of upendo would be absolutely terrifying to Izaya. To actually display it in any 'normal' way would be to leave himself vulnerable. Likely making him crueler than he's known at times to be. Perhaps even going so far as to avoid and onyesha complete indifference. If those two options failed him, I would go with going out of his way to try to make 'me' completely dependent on him. His possession until he was completely certain he couldn't get hurt. Then and only then do I think he may actually admit his feelings. Maybe!
