I think it just freaks some people out that he's found his soul mate in a newborn baby. People might find it just a little bit too weird. But I agree, she's going to grow up and become a beautiful woman, and it will be the closest, most comfortable, wonderful relationship. I mean, she is going to grow up with Jacob always there, a part of her life, part of her happiest days and as a comfort in her not so happy days. He'll be there for every thing that happens in her life, from the day she was born, through childhood, and through adolesence, and when she eventually is old enough to fall in love with him and be with him, it'll be the strongest, happiest love you could imagine. Perhaps it's just hard to imagine, and so people have trouble with the idea.
I'm all for it, if I think about it. When reading the book, the sudden change in Jacob when he'd imprinted, after reading so much about his love for Bella and fighting for Bella, felt a little strange.

I think people just forget it's not romantic at first.

I loved it! I thought it was an interesting twist but at the same time completely made sense. He had such a strong connection to Bella, but a romantic relationship between them was never feasible. Although imprinting on Nessie didn't mean they were romantically involved (for now anyway), I thought it explained why he may have had such a strong connection to Bella even though they couldn't be a couple - she was destined to give birth to his imprint.

I get that he only likes her as a sister but I don't see how that would suddenly change into 'I want to date her'. If you love someone like a sibling, that doesn't just change and that's why I think it's wrong.

People are just jumping to conclusions. Jacob does not think of Renesmee in that way! He is a big brother/protector...maybe when Renesmee is older they might get involved romantically? Stephenie wanted Jacob to have a happy ending and i guess he got his with his Nessie =)

agree with XxTeamEdwardXx... he's just Nessie's protector. But it's good that he has Renesmee, Because he can't have Bella as his own,it's better if she has someone to be with.So,yeah.I'm not really against the imprinting stuff.Actually I think it's cool!

i think it's down right creepy to imprint on your former loves daughter? why can't couldn't Stephanie have Jacob imprint on another human? Although when Nessie does get older she should keep eye on her mother you never know when Bella might decide to jump into Jacob's pants if things go south between her and Edward

I think it's weird. Jacob's romantic relationship with Bella should have automatically disqualified him from possible future romantic interest in Nessie. I think it's a weak consolation prize for a character who gave everything and got nothing in return but anguish.

I think it was a little wierd to have him imprint on Bellas daughter.When reading the books i thought that Leah (seths sister) and Jacob may have come to like each other. I would have loved that as an ending!I know they were part of the same pack but they both knew what it was like to love someone not in love with them, and they new how the wolf life worked. So in a way i was hoping that was the ending..

Well, whilst i do believe that the imprint with Nessie/Jake is completely one of carer/baby at this stage, and then it will be best friend/kid and eventually boy/girl, and i do see how a carer can become a best friend, and best friends can definitely become partners, but eventually dating someone whose mother you also dated? Isn't that a bit strange? Plus Leah/Jacob would have been awesome.

Even though it was the only way out of the situation that came up in the fourth book I really didn't like the imprinting idea. It wasn't because of her being a newborn because they say in the book it wasn't like that it was because it takes away choice. Bella got to choose Edward it would have been nice if Jacob had a choice as well.

I just think his imprint could have been SO much better. I mean, I'm ok with the fact that it's a baby, just not that it's Bella's baby! I would have LOVED for Jacob to have met a cousin or friend of a neighbor that was visiting Forks and just totally fell in love (imprinted). I would want it to be someone his age, not someone he has to wait for. It almost seems like it's a sort of consolation prize.(As stated by Onemelami) I mean, if it was me, I wouldn't want my soul mate to have been in love with My Mom! Also, I want Jacob's life to go on already, with someone his age, who can love him NOW, not in the future. I was really disappointed with the outcome. I really wish it could have been different.

Well, there are quite a lot of reasons actually...

Like most of them mentioned, I feel that it's pretty awkward that Jacob imprinted on Bella's kid, since he was actually in love with Bella before. What if Renesmee actually found out one day that Jacob used to have feelings for her mum? If I were her, I think I would be rather uncomfortable with the truth.

And the fact that Jacob has a brotherly kind of love for Renesmee while she's still underage gives me mixed feelings too. So, while Renesmee is still a kid, Jacob only loves her as a brother. But once she's old enough, Jacob would love her like a lover? I find it rather strange.

Another point...According to the books, it was mentioned that Renesmee will fully mature after (erm) 7 years? She may be physically mature but I don't think she'll be emotionally mature. Given only 7 years of existence, she may be able to think and talk like an adult but I don't think that time span is enough for her to fully understand the depths of relationships and emotional hardships...

JACOB imprinted on Renee. thats completely understandable. i gues its kinda like the part of Bella that JACOB loved was the part that Bella gave birth to. in that way, she separated herself from her dilemma of choosing between EDWARD N JACOB.

It was a bit awkard for Bella. The whole time she was pregnant he didn't like the idea of her keeping the baby...And when she completes the change she fins out he's imprinted on her child. So it was deffinetly wierd for Bella.But there is really nothing wrong with Jake imprining Nessie. I mean there's nothing roantic about it...

I'm ok with the imprinting, but like someone said, it's weird only because at some point Jacob was in love with her MOTHER. I can just imagine that conversation in a couple of years . . . "Well, you see, honey - Jacob and I sort of dated . . ." lol

I loved the idea of Jacob imprinting on Renesme, it actually adds another aspect to the book. It's not like a love triangle, with Bella in the middle, anymore. You can actually see that Jacob matures when he imprints her and she sees him in a different light as well.
It's hard for some people to understand that love at first sight does happen, I know that it's entirely different to love at first sight, and it's actually more special when it's different to normal love.
Jacob will be there for her, no matter what happens to her and no-one can actually say that their partner, if they have one, would do the same for them.

I just thought of something else why did the author have jacob imprint on Bella's daughter when he wanted to have the pregnancy terminated? What happens when Nessie gets older and she finds out that jacob wanted her killed because she was hurting and almost killed Bella? Also Jacob should have got a better happy ending instead of being cemented to Bella for life by imprinting on her child, I don't care if when Nessie gets older she and Jacob may have a chance at a relationship. Jacob deserves better than to be settling for someone else because he couldn't have Bella. Stephanie should 've had Jacob fall in love with Leah or some else completely different a girl who has more fire, spunk, and more independent than Bella.

Sorry but I don't see how it makes it okay just because it brings peace. That poor kid will never have a choice. She will bought up being told Jacob is the one for her, blah, blah, and she will simply accept that. She's basically going to be socialised into loving him. That's no choice, and therefore I don't see it as love.

Yeah Ive seem some nasty people put disgusting sexual images of Jacob and a baby, calling him a perve and child molester. Thats so wrong. Didnt they read the whole chapter on imprinting and Quils story. I think the haters are just looking for a reason to hate Jacob. I didnt have a problem specifically with imprinting, but i didnt like it with Nessie for Jacob. Bella was married with a kid, she got her whole package while Jacob suffered so long. I wanted him to have immediate happiness right then. Someone who he could fully express his love to and with him. Truthfully i was hoping Leah and Jacob got together. They both got really raw deals by the ones they completely gave their hearts too. I was hoping they could be each others love and confidants.

jacob got hurt because of bella many times and the way she reacted when jacob told her he imprinted on renesmee sickens me.come on!!!!!!!!she knows she has made his life miserable by choosing edward.fine thats ok she loved him .but doesnt jake deserve some hapiness?shouldnt she sacrifice something for him when he has saved her life many times?instead she attacks him.i thought bella was ok even when she chose edward because maybe i would too but when i read abt this incident i lost the respect i had towards this character

i know that renesmee will grow to be a beautiful woman but it doesnt change the fact that what people perspective on book jacob. I think it was an awesome twist. Your all thinking on an average human level. It sets itself up go an awesome plot. Jake and bella...ok....but A wolf with a (new kind of) vampire...never been done. Him being in Bella's life is not in vain. For it brought him to renesmee. It happened to protect her as well. Regardless, jake loved Bella that much he would do anything for her, including protecting her 'demon' baby. Love doesn't always have to be of a sexual nature...you can love someone and not be intimate. That's why she feels complete when she's around both Edward and jake.

I do not think that Jacob imprinting on Renesemee as wrong or weird. There has been other situations similar with the others wolves in the pack, and the same think has always applies. You be what they want you to be. For Jacob, there will now be no one else. If Renesemee want Jacob as a brother, that's what he'll be for her, if Rensemee grows older and falls for him, Jacob will love her and chances are become romantically involved. It's simple: As a young baby, Jacob will be her protecter, as a child, Jacob will be her friend, as a teen/young adult, may become romatically involved. There is nothing unusual about being someones friend and then it turns into something more.
