@ mona_me:
Its a trisemester system.
theres an opening ceremony in march.
first term, summer semester, is from April 1 to mid-July. summer break's length varies across regions and years, its between 1-2 month, it was 45 days last year in tokyo.
second term, winter semester, starts in early September and ends in late December.
last term starts in early January and ends in early March. theres a short break for 2-3 weeks.

I hope this helped!!

Whats the most popular anime or manga in japan, and whats your favorite? I'm guessing probably Burichi or maybe Raki Suta.

In most anime's I've watched people use suitcases in school instead of bookbags. Is that normal in Japan? What do you use?

Japanese students use backpacks and suitcases depending on their choce. I use a backpack just bacause its easy to get around with it. Below is a Japanese suitcase!

well i am glad you all aren't perverted

what are the uses for the three writing systems

hiragana

katagana

kanji
zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita ginei_werewolf said…
where should i study hiragana
zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita KuroOokami said…
@ ginei_werewolf: Hiragana and katakana are both kana systems, in which each character represents one mora. Each kana is either a vowel such as "a" (あ); a consonant followed by a vowel such as "ka" (か); or "n" (ん), a nasal sonorant which, depending on the context, sounds either like English m, n, or ng (IPA: [ŋ]), or like the nasal vowels of French.
[Thats one down!^_^]
zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita KuroOokami said…
@ ginei_werewolf: Kanji are the Chinese characters that are used in the modern Japanese writing system along with hiragana (ひらがな, 平仮名), katakana (カタカナ, 片仮名), Indo Arabic numerals, and the occasional use of the Latin alphabet (known as the "Rōmaji"). The Japanese term kanji (漢字) literally means "Han characters" or "Chinese characters" and is the same written term used in the Chinese language to refer to the character writing system.
[Another down!]
zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita KuroOokami said…
@ ginei_werewolf: I think some collages offer it in the US. A lot of schools in Japan teach you it too. I don't really know where you can study hiragana other then out of Japan. Like I said, befour I really don't know where you can study it.
