 My first glimpse of Lost
My first glimpse of Lost
Sit down, shut up and strap yourselves in, as I am about to tell wewe a lengthy tale of one brave warrior of Hyrule (apparently) and his addiction to an Island.

A few years ago, I saw the link for Lost on YouTube and was intrigued kwa it. This was on a Saturday evening I believe and I saw a few other reports that had alisema Lost was going to be a good show, but didn't think much zaidi about it.

Then I went along to our usual family car boot with about £20 in my pocket and looked at a few things as usual. Looked around the usual stalls and then a guy selling pirated DVDs was there, which was unusual, but as I was browsing his meza, jedwali I found that he had the first sixteen episodes of this strange Lost show. I enquired and he informed me it had already started to air in the US. Then I supported piracy a little with an exchange of monies and went about the rest of my day, not knowing how great the onyesha would be.

This is how I buy Lost these days however

After the rest of my day, doing whatever it was before I found fanpop and Lost, all the family settled down to watch the first few episodes. After Walkabout, I was trapped. I had to watch it. I had to find out what happened. We started watching the DVDs at night, and the younger family members slowly went to bed, and eventually it was just three of us. Constant remarks of "We should go to kitanda wewe know" were interrupted kwa my own remarks of "Shhh...Lost" and then as I looked outside seeing dawn and remembering I had work in about five hours and had four episodes left to go, I didn't care. So I went to work the morning after a Lost overdose full of maswali about the various things I had seen, and where the onyesha was headed inayofuata and how far America was, and then in some strange kind of crystalising moment, a small part of my brain awakened. Theories? it asked. And I did reply.

Then as Lost started here and I finished watching Season one, and season two started I was still chockful of maswali and theories, and then something else happened. An advert for The Hanso Foundation? What the hell? So I called the number and began my painful but loving relationship with a cast of characters including the beautiful Rachel Blake, the raving conspiracy theorist DJ Dan and the evil Thomas Verner Mittlewerk.

 Oh, Persephone wewe taunting woman
Oh, Persephone wewe taunting woman

I refer, of course to the Lost Experience, an alternate reality game. In the game, all the players were united kwa a common cause and that was to take down the evil Hanso Foundation, who preached humanitarianism to cover up what they were really doing and how they were linked in with DHARMA. I lived and breathed the Lost Experience. I was ecstatic when I finally discovered some clues au glyphs that no-one else had found yet, au when I discovered a secret DJ Dan podcast. Also, Apollo Candy bars are delicious. It was a rollercoaster ride, in which it was revealed that Alvar Hanso was kicked out of his own company with others doing bad deeds in his name and revealed to us what the numbers really were.

That was the final block in place. The final stretch of my resistance to being addicted. Another "final" metaphor comparing my addiction to Lost to that of Charlie's heroin.

Now, as Season 4 is rolling around, I'm zaidi excited than ever, and the mobisodes keep me going every week, as well as the always legendary blogger link, who keeps us all going with the spoilers, rumours and other tidbits about Lost and even about the writers strike and more.

That is my story, wewe may leave now people. I have some bunnies to sort out in The Orchid.
